British royal family doesn’t care about Markle’s new Netflix show
Former D-list actress Meghan Markle is hoping that 2025 is her year.
She’s banking on her Netflix lifestyle docuseries With Love, Meghan to revive her career.
Meghan also made her return to social media after years away to promote herself.
Prince Harry is hoping that his wife’s new show will get a lot of attention with the couple’s Netflix deal expiring at the end of the year.
The British royal family won’t be tuning in to see Meghan attempt to navigate a kitchen.
To Di For Daily podcast host, Kinsey Schofield claimed that Prince William and Kate Middleton don’t have time for Meghan’s antics.
“I was told that the Prince and Princess of Wales have no interest in Meghan’s future projects,” Schofield said. “A palace source told me, ‘Meghan was a background character in a chapter that’s already closed. Courtiers don’t believe that Meghan is worth the mental real estate.”
Harry and Meghan have had a frosty relationship with the British royal family since they fled the United Kingdom for Southern California.
The couple has attacked the royal family in interviews since they stepped down from their roles as senior royals.
Someone will have to suffer through Meghan’s reality show
The British royal family won’t watch Meghan’s Netflix show but someone on their staff will draw the short straw and be forced to view it.
“The palace plans to assign someone of lower rank to sit through the show, so the communications office has a heads up if there is something to brace for,” Schofield explained. “Netflix is not giving the palace, or anyone, screeners so they will see it in real-time with the audience. Regarding the vapid celebrity-focused theme, courtiers are just grateful that Meghan’s taken a break from attacking the institution.”
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams claimed the royal family “couldn’t give a damn” about Meghan’s reality show.
“Meghan does still make news, and the Sussex brand still fascinates,” Fitzwilliams said. “But… [the series] looked pretty superficial to me. I wondered where the Kardashians were.”
The show features Meghan and various celebrity pals while she attempts to cook and garden.
2024 was a difficult year for the royal family.
King Charles III and Kate Middleton were diagnosed with undisclosed forms of cancer.
The Princess of Wales completed her cancer treatment in September while Charles’ is still ongoing.
British photographer Helena Chard praised William for how he handled his family’s struggles.
“Prince William… is proud of his father and wife for how they tackled such a challenging year with empathy, strength and determination,” Chard said. “He continues to be his family’s rock as well as overseeing multiple philanthropic projects at home and abroad.”
Meghan’s attempt to bake won’t be on their radar.
“He highlighted that we could all do with more empathetic leadership around the world. And the king has demonstrated unwavering leadership even in ill health. The last thing the British royal family will be interested in is Meghan’s inauthentic, cringe, vacuous celebrity cookery reality show,” Chard explained.
