The worst thing for Democrats, at this point, is for Kamala to be lumped together again with Joe Biden.
And it looks like the worst-case scenario for Democrats may actually be playing out before our very eyes.
Karine Jean-Pierre just hit Kamala Harris with the worst news possible, thanks to Peter Doocy.
This is now Kamala’s race to lose
Democrats couldn’t have scripted a better first month for Vice President Kamala Harris’ Presidential campaign.
Just three months ago, she was considered one of Democrats’ biggest liabilities heading into the election season – some even went so far as to call for President Joe Biden to find a new running mate.
And now, just two and a half months from the election, Kamala is well on her way to potentially winning the Presidential election over former President Donald Trump.
Just look at the data points we have so far this campaign cycle.
According to RealClearPolitics’ national polling average, Trump led Kamala by nearly 3% in the national popular vote on July 15.
As of August 18, the same polling average indicates that Kamala is leading Trump nationally by nearly 2%.
That’s nearly a five-point swing in just one month’s time.
And you can tell by looking at her speaking events that Democrats are energized behind Kamala’s campaign.
If you need proof, just look at the whopping $310,000,000 in donations Kamala’s campaign generated during the month of July – and she was only a candidate for the final two weeks of that month.
But one thing that could sink Kamala’s campaign is the old man lingering around in the White House.
Proud of the Biden-Harris regime?
Democrats are doing a great job at separating Kamala from President Joe Biden, as they know he is a huge political liability.
So you would expect that the Trump campaign, the Republican National Committee, and other Republicans would be doing everything in their power to make sure Kamala owns her time as Biden’s sidekick.
But to this point, it looks like no one is doing more to highlight Kamala’s role in the Biden-Harris campaign than Fox News’ Peter Doocy.
Last Wednesday, Doocy had a chance to ask Biden Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre a question.
And Doocy didn’t miss the opportunity.
“The Vice President’s team is not holding any press briefings,” Doocy began. “You are left to answer everything for her even though you are not the Vice President’s press secretary. Is that getting old?”
Without missing a beat, Jean-Pierre made such to acknowledge that Kamala and Biden worked together as a team.
“I’m the White House press secretary as you all know, obviously, for the president, for this administration, for the Biden-Harris administration,” Jean-Pierre said. “It is an honor and privilege… to stand before you to be able to do that job. And I will do it as long as I can right to the end of this term. I am proud to be standing here at this podium, behind this lectern on behalf of the Biden-Harris administration.”
The last thing Kamala’s campaign team wants to see is this messaging pinning the Vice President to the current sitting President of the United States.
So a few more White House press conferences like this, and Donald Trump is sure to win.
