Kamala Harris reinvents herself as pro-border security
Vice President Kamala Harris has mostly kept a lid on what her policy positions are now that she is the Democrat Presidential candidate.
But she knows that immigration is a serious vulnerability for her campaign after she served as President Joe Biden’s “Border Czar.”
The Harris campaign tried to go on the offensive on the issue by releasing an ad that laughably claimed that she is trying to fix the border while former President Donald Trump is stopping her.

The ad claims that Harris supports increasing the number of Border Patrol agents and is in favor of spending more money to stop human trafficking and fentanyl.
According to polling, Trump has a significant advantage on handling immigration.
That’s why she’s trying to create a phony narrative that her public relations team – aka Democrats’ media allies – can push about her somehow being tough on border security.
Kamala Harris has a long track record of supporting open borders
The challenge in front of the Trump campaign and his allies is not letting Harris and the media erase her lengthy record of support for open borders.
When she was elected San Francisco District Attorney, she vowed to ignore illegal immigration cases because she represented a so-called “sanctuary city.”
Harris also ran a program for illegal aliens arrested for drug crimes where they could have their records expunged and receive job training to avoid being deported.
This support for illegal aliens continued when she was elected to the Senate in the 2016 election.
She voted against every one of Trump’s border security proposals in the Senate.
Anti-illegal immigration group NumbersUSA couldn’t find any evidence of her opposing illegal aliens in the Senate in their vote research.
“No good vote for her. Everything is a zero and an F,” NumbersUSA research director Eric Ruark told the Daily Caller.
The group creates a scorecard for Members of Congress based on their voting record on illegal immigration.
“Because of senators like Harris, we had to go an F- to really measure how terrible they are on immigration,” Ruark explained. “As a Senator, her actions speak for themselves on immigration.”
NumbersUSA handed Harris an F- grade for her support for mass amnesty for illegal aliens, opposition to border security, and enticements for illegal aliens to enter the country.
Harris sponsored three Senate bills in 2019 that would have prevented further work on Trump’s border wall.
She claims that she supports more Border Agents now.
But she tried to block Trump from getting funding for more agents in 2019.
“As you Committee considers fiscal year 2019 appropriations for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), we ask you to reject President Trump’s FY2019 funding request for a costly and ineffective border wall, new Border Patrol agents, and a large increase in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) personnel and detention beds,” Harris and a group of Senate Democrats signed.
