Kamala Harris is finally starting to unveil some of her policy proposals.

They’re worse than anyone could have imagined.

And now Kamala Harris is feeling the heat for this awful plan to demolish cities.

Kamala Harris wants to use failed rent control scheme

Vice President Kamala Harris has kept it light on policy during her Presidential campaign.

She wants to run a substance-free race that’s based on good vibes.

Kamala wants to keep as much of her woke extremist agenda hidden until after the election as possible to appear “moderate” and avoid turning off battleground state voters.

But she kept one of the awful policy proposals that President Joe Biden made before he dropped out of the race.

Kamala backed Biden’s plan to impose national rent control by restricting all rent increases to 5% over the next two years for landlords who own more than 50 units.

Like her Soviet-style price controls on groceries, she’s dusting off a page from the failed communist and socialist playbooks.

Rent control is a policy that’s failed everywhere it’s been tried.

Affordable housing is a major issue after more than 11 million illegal aliens entered the country during the Biden-Harris regime.

Cities and states experimented with rent control in the 1970s, but most abandoned the policy after it led to housing shortages.

Artificially restricting the price of something – whether it’s apartments, groceries, or anything else – always leads to shortages because consumers rush to buy up the product, and producers lose the profit incentive to produce more.

Conservative groups shred Kamala Harris’ rent control scheme

The Club for Growth, Heritage Foundation, and more than 30 conservative groups came out in opposition to Kamala’s rent control scheme.

In a letter, they warned that rent control would eliminate affordable housing that Kamala claims she wants.

“Even the socialist Swedish economist Assar Lindbeck once said, ‘In many cases rent control appears to be the most efficient technique presently known to destroy a city — except for bombing,’” the letter stated.

The letter pointed to the failure that San Francisco experienced when the city experimented with rent control

“An NBER [National Bureau of Economic Research] study revealed that the 1994 rent-control expansion in San Francisco led to landlords converting their properties to condos or tenancies in common. Instead of encouraging affordable housing, the government incentivized converting away from it,” the letter explained.

“This study also found that, because of rent control, there was a city-wide rent price increase of 5.1 percent. Because of existing tenants’ depressed rents, many stay in apartments for longer than they otherwise would. This reduces the supply of rent-controlled properties for potential tenants, thus increasing the prices of other, non-controlled properties,” the letter added.

Even Democrats balked at the idea of bringing back rent control when Biden proposed it.

Economist Jason Furman – who served as the chair of the Council of Economic Advisers under former president Barack Obama – called the policy a disgrace.

“Rent control has been about as disgraced as any economic policy in the tool kit,” Furman said. “The idea we’d be reviving and expanding it will ultimately make our housing supply problems worse, not better.”

Kamala Harris wants to force failed communist and socialist policies onto America.
