Jeremy Renner played a superhero on the big screen in the Avengers franchise.
But one heroic real-life act almost ended his career.
And now Jeremy Renner just delivered one announcement that has Yellowstone fans eager to ring in the new year.
Mayor of Kingstown season three was a miracle
Following the success of Yellowstone, the series’ brilliant showrunner, Taylor Sheridan, decided to implement his same blueprint of focusing on working-class American families and communities with a new project.
The Paramount+ hit, Mayor of Kingstown, takes place in a rust-belt prison town and stars actor Jeremy Renner.
After two strong seasons, a horrific snowplow accident occurred when Renner heroically saved his nephew from being run over by the plow.
Renner sustained 33-broken bones in the New Year’s Day 2023 tragedy at his Reno, Nevada area home.
And because of that, a third season of Mayor of Kingstown was in serious doubt.
But with help from his faith, Renner stayed strong and powered his way to a miraculous recovery.
Season three did, indeed, move forward and it is now available to stream in full.
And Renner and Sheridan aren’t done there.
Hawkeye is set to soar to new heights
According to The Hollywood Reporter, season three of Mayor of Kingstown was the number one streaming show on the Paramount+ platform this year.
And because of that, the show has been renewed and picked up for a fourth season.
It’s been written…. And we’re very excited for new season. Are you ready ? @paramountplus @kingstown pic.twitter.com/rD6BU0eDZZ

Renner’s co-star in the series, Hugh Dillon, who also worked with Sheridan to create the series, is impressed with what he’s seen from the series’ star and is excited to see what the actor has up his sleeves moving forward.
“What that guy has done behind the camera and in front of the camera is nothing short of spectacular in every regard,” Dillon told The Hollywood Reporter. “A big driving force [of doing this show] is to see the satisfaction with Jeremy Renner. He made a giant come back and to see him be artistically satisfied. The scripts are great, the characters great. And that’s what we want to do. We don’t want to leave any stone unturned.”
While no release date is currently set for season four of Mayor of Kingstown, fans should not have to wait too long.
Sheridan has built a reputation for rapid turnaround times, and he and his co-producers, Dillion and Renner, likely have plenty of plans for the next set of storylines, turning over stones.
In fact, Renner even tweeted out that the next season of the series has already been written.
Welcome to Kingstown
Mayor of Kingstown is an action-packed crime-thriller series.
It takes place in a fictional Michigan town, Kingstown where incarceration is the number one industry.
According to show lore, Kingstown features seven prisons, housing 20,000 inmates, within a 10-mile radius.

Renner plays Mike McLusky, who is following in his family’s footsteps as the main fixer in the city.
McLusky dances on a delicate tight rope balancing the needs and wants of the inmates, the corrections officers, the gangs on the outside, and the police.
And he does it all to keep the innocent bystanders in the town safe and sound.
It’s such an important role—all other area leadership refer to McLusky as “the mayor.”
Of course, all the power and all the fires to put out come at great cost to McLusky.
And only time will tell what challenges will pop up in season four for McLusky and his band of misfits.
