Homeland Security agents raided Ilhan Omar's Washington home Monday morning in a criminal immigration fraud investigation.
The raid wasn't even Omar's worst news this week.
What Pirro said on national TV about Omar's finances should keep the Minnesota Democrat up at night.
Ilhan Omar Net Worth Surged From $51,000 to $30 Million in a Single Year
The congressional ethics watchdog voted 5-1 in September to recommend dismissing misconduct allegations over Omar's financial disclosures, and U.S. Attorney for Washington D.C. Jeanine Pirro went on Fox News to make something clear to host John Roberts.
"It doesn't matter what the House does," Pirro said on America Reports. "We're looking at the facts. Based upon the facts, we'll follow them wherever they take us."
Pirro confirmed her office has opened a formal investigation into Omar's financial disclosures.
The numbers that triggered the probe are hard to explain away.
Omar entered Congress in 2019 with a negative net worth.
By 2024, her financial disclosures showed household assets worth as much as $30 million – an increase of 140 times in a single year.
The bulk came from two businesses run by her husband, Tim Mynett.
Rose Lake Capital LLC – a Washington venture capital firm – was worth as little as $1,000 in 2023 and appeared on Omar's 2024 disclosure valued at up to $25 million.
The California winery eStCru LLC followed the same trajectory, growing from at most $50,000 in reported value in 2023 to as much as $5 million in 2024.
Then House Oversight Chairman James Comer sent a letter demanding financial records from both companies.
Within weeks, Mynett abruptly shut down the winery.
Court filings showed the winery had just $650 in its bank account when it closed – while Omar's disclosures had listed it as worth up to $5 million.
Rose Lake Capital's website quietly disappeared its own advisory team – including former Obama officials – right as Minnesota fraud prosecutions began producing convictions.
Omar's office blamed an accounting error and amended the disclosure, reducing both businesses to zero net value after liabilities.
The House Ethics Committee accepted the recommendation and dismissed the case.
Jeanine Pirro Is Investigating Ilhan Omar's Financial Disclosures and the Ethics Vote Means Nothing
Pirro's response was a shrug.
When Roberts pressed her directly – "This is your office that's doing this?" – her answer was one word: "Yep."
Omar is now facing two simultaneous federal investigations – the immigration probe that brought HSI agents to her door Monday and Pirro's separate criminal inquiry into her finances.
The search warrant in the immigration case listed potential offenses including false statements and fraud on paperwork submitted by Omar's late father when she was a child.
Pirro then addressed what a signed federal warrant actually signals.
"There's no question that judge would not have signed that warrant if there was not probable cause and even more than that given the individual who is involved," Pirro said.
"If there was a crime that was committed, it will be prosecuted."
A U.S. Attorney just told the country that a member of Congress faces prosecution if the evidence holds – and a federal judge already reviewed that evidence and signed off.
Pirro made clear the standard was higher precisely because Omar holds a congressional seat.
If Omar's citizenship was obtained through fraud, federal prosecutors can pursue denaturalization – stripping her of U.S. citizenship and ending her seat in Congress. Border czar Tom Homan called that process "very serious" months before federal agents ever showed up at her door.
A winery holding $650 in cash gets listed at up to $5 million on federal disclosure forms.
A venture capital firm reporting no income in 2024 somehow jumps in disclosed value from $1,000 to $25 million in twelve months.
The moment congressional investigators sent a single letter, both companies shut down – and no legitimate business operates that way.
The Biden administration's DOJ was already scrutinizing Omar's finances before Trump took office – meaning her "political targeting" defense doesn't hold up.
Prosecutors from two separate administrations looked at the same facts and reached the same conclusion: Ilhan Omar has a serious problem.
Minnesota's Feeding Our Future welfare scandal – centered in Omar's own congressional district – produced dozens of federal convictions and $250 million in fraudulent claims.
Omar was not charged in that case.
But investigators keep winding up back in Omar's congressional district – same organizations, same money trails.
Omar spent years on television lecturing America about the corrupting influence of money in politics.
Her husband's companies made her one of the wealthiest members of Congress on paper right up until a federal letter arrived – then both disappeared.
The House Ethics Committee cleared her.
Jeanine Pirro doesn't answer to the House Ethics Committee.
