Democrats are ecstatic that Kamala Harris is riding to the rescue after Joe Biden’s campaign imploded.
Now, their honeymoon is coming to an abrupt end.
And James Carville made one scary confession that is really bad news for Kamala Harris.
Harris is getting hammered for her far-left record
Democrats thought the entrance of Vice President Kamala Harris into the Presidential race was a chance to reset the national debate and conversation.
But they swapped out President Joe Biden for a candidate with a long track record of the most woke extremist political positions imaginable.
Republicans began to attack Harris for her socialist record the moment Biden announced he was ending his re-election campaign.
Veteran Democrat strategist James Carville is one of the few Democrats left who is willing to criticize radicals like Harris.
He appeared on the PBS show Firing Line, where he was asked about Harris coming under fire for positions she took during her failed 2020 Presidential campaign.
“If you were running this campaign, you would be noticing that Republicans are already honing their attacks against Vice President Harris as too progressive,” Host Margaret Hoover said. “They’re pointing to her record when she ran in 2020 calling for [the] removal of the filibuster so she could pass the Green New Deal, promising to ban fracking and offshore drilling. She had said she was open to abolishing ICE — Immigration and Customs Enforcement — that she was open to providing health care for undocumented immigrants.”
After compiling what GovTrack determined was the most radical left-wing voting record in the Senate, taking the mantle from Senator Bernie Sanders (Socialist-VT), Harris and Sanders engaged in a battle royale to see who could present themselves as the most unhinged left-wing candidate imaginable during the 2020 Democrat Presidential Primary.
Harris has a laundry list of idiotic left-wing positions
Hoover asked the mastermind of former President Bill Clinton’s campaign what he would do.
“The hit is going to be from the Trump campaign and from the Republicans that she is dangerously progressive. How do you advise her as a candidate now?” Hoover asked.
Carville said that Harris should try to go on the offensive by attacking former President Donald Trump.
“The other side gets to play,” Carville said. “There’s this whole feeling that the only people that get to play this game are the Republicans, and that the Democrats are just doomed to sit there and get beat up by them. And I don’t think — I hope — I know I’m not going to play that game, and I hope that she doesn’t play that game.”
“No, but how should she respond to the attacks that she’s too progressive? Should she run as a centrist?” Hoover wondered.
He said that since Harris wasn’t well known nationally, there was a race to define her to voters by her campaign and Republicans attacking her.
“There’s no doubt, her campaign in 2020 was just God-awful,” Carville said. “ And I think the problem she had was her stupid strategist said you can’t talk about being a prosecutor or an A.G., so she didn’t have anything to talk about. She was just out there trying to go through some laundry list of idiotic — positions.”
Kamala Harris’ 2020 Presidential campaign is going to give Republicans plenty of fodder to attack her with.
