Aimee Bock stole $242 million meant to feed children – and a Minnesota judge sentenced her to 41 years in prison.
Investigators spent four years mapping shell companies, incorporation addresses, and names connected to the fraud ring.
And one piece of public record just put Ilhan Omar at the center of it.
One Lakeville Home Tied Sahra Noor to Three Feeding Our Future Convicts
Sahra Noor – Ilhan Omar's sister – incorporated her consulting firm Grit Partners at a home on Hyacinth Ave. in Lakeville, Minnesota.
That same home connects at least three major Feeding Our Future convicts.
Feeding Our Future was the nonprofit at the center of Minnesota's largest public theft — a $242 million scheme that billed the federal government for millions of meals that were never served to children who never existed.
Hanna Marekegn pleaded guilty in 2022 to wire fraud for stealing $7 million from the child nutrition program.
Marekegn testified under oath that she falsely accused state workers of racism to make them ignore red flags in her operation.
Aimee Bock – the ringleader now serving 41 years – was listed as point of contact for two companies incorporated at that same Hyacinth address.
Sahra Nur, sentenced to four years in prison, operated the fake catering company whose phony invoices let the broader network collect federal reimbursements for food that was never purchased.
Nur's home on Fordham Ct. NE was ground zero for the operation – used by at least 17 different shell companies to bill taxpayers or launder stolen funds.
The woman who lives at the Hyacinth address, Ister Afraa, was CEO of a company that operated out of Nur's home.
Afraa also had a $30,000 state tax lien filed against her in April 2025.
That is the address where Ilhan Omar's sister registered Grit Partners Consulting.
Omar Stonewalls Fraud Investigators as Democrats Kill Subpoena
Noor publicly claims Grit Partners has secured more than $20 million in funding for health initiatives and has consulted on projects backed by USAID and the Centers for Disease Control.
Her husband, Mohamed Keynan, went from managing Minnesota state contracts to serving as chief of staff to Somalia's Prime Minister and policy advisor to Somalia's president.
Breitbart reported that Noor left the United States entirely when reporters started pressing the Omar family about the congresswoman's marriage to her own brother – a marriage legal experts say was intended to facilitate immigration fraud.
The House Fraud Prevention and State Agency Oversight Committee demanded answers from Ilhan Omar herself.
She refused to testify and refused to hand over documents.
In May, every Democrat on the committee voted to block a subpoena that would have compelled her to produce records — the vote failed 5-3, with Republicans in favor and every Democrat opposed.
Omar's response: "Any claim that I had knowledge of this scheme is flat-out false."
That statement does not address why she promoted the program on Somali television – thanking Safari Restaurant, whose owner was jointly tried with Aimee Bock.
Court exhibits from Bock's trial included an email chain titled "Ilhan's Office" and a text message exchange between Omar and Bock recovered from Bock's home.
Omar's MEALS Act Opened the Door to Minnesota's $242 Million Feeding Our Future Fraud
Omar wrote the law that made the entire scheme possible – years before her name turned up in Bock's court documents and her sister's company turned up at the center of the fraud network.
The MEALS Act – inserted into the Families First Coronavirus Response Act in 2020 – eliminated federal requirements that had blocked non-school-based organizations from tapping child nutrition reimbursements.
Minnesota state Rep. Kristin Robbins told the Washington Examiner that Omar knew what was in that bill when other lawmakers didn't – and went on Somali television to share that information specifically with her community.
Feeding Our Future grew from a roughly $3 million operation to billing the federal government for hundreds of millions in fake meals.
Investigators determined that thousands of children listed on the reimbursement claims never existed.
Stolen money purchased luxury real estate, funded overseas bank accounts, and bought an entire city block on East Lake Street in Minneapolis.
Omar has never explained why she was on Somali television promoting the same program the fraud ring was looting.
Her sister's company is registered at the address tying together the operation's convicted masterminds — and Minnesota Democrats have made sure no one can force her to explain that either.
