The socialist wing of the Democrat Party notched another victory in Michigan this week.
The Democrat establishment threw $60 million at stopping it and got run over anyway.
Hillary Clinton admitted that Democrats will have one big problem to deal with this fall.
Hillary Clinton Breaks From the Party Script on Abdul El-Sayed
Hillary Clinton sat down with journalist Kara Swisher on the Pivot podcast and said what most Democrats have been reluctant to admit after this week’s Michigan Primary.
The Republican message – communist, socialist – aimed directly at Michigan's new Democrat Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed is "going to be a very effective attack."
She said it like someone reading poll numbers.
"All I know is that is the attack Trump is leading with," Clinton told Swisher. "I assume they have reason to believe it's effective or they wouldn't be beating the drum on it."
That is a two-time presidential candidate – the most recognizable name in the Democrat Party – publicly confirming that Trump's framing of her party's rising stars lands with voters.
She did not defend El-Sayed or call the label false – she told her side to figure out how to answer it.
Abdul El-Sayed and the Michigan Senate Primary the Democrat Establishment Could Not Stop
El-Sayed won Michigan's Democrat Senate primary Tuesday by roughly 15,000 votes over four-term congresswoman Rep. Haley Stevens.
Trump reacted before the sun came up.
"Great news for the Republican Party," he posted on Truth Social. "El-Sayed, a Communist loser who hates Jews and Israel, is the projected winner in his race with the Socialist."
The National Republican Senatorial Committee moved fast to start defining El-Sayed for the general election.
"Abdul El-Sayed's victory marks another devastating loss for Chuck Schumer in his civil war with Bernie Sanders as Democrats position Mike Rogers to defeat socialism's newest standard-bearer in November," NRSC spokeswoman Bernadette Breslin told Fox News Digital.
Michigan Republican Senate Candidate Mike Rogers was just as direct.
"They are very radical, and they are way too extreme for Michigan," he told Fox News. "Abdul, he has his own special sauce of crazy."
Democrat Socialist Wing Takes Over the 2026 Midterms
Clinton was not warning El-Sayed.
She was warning the rest of the party that his positions – abolishing ICE, Medicare for All, cutting off military aid to Israel, calling Israel's response to October 7 a genocide – do not play in a state where Trump won twice.
She also made clear she is not confident the Left flank will fall in line come November in other races across the country.
"When the progressives – whatever we want to call candidates on that side of the Democrat Party – when they lose, they often don't support the candidate that has been nominated," she said.
She was talking about herself and Bernie Sanders’ supporters in the 2016 Election.
"There was a lot of reluctance to support me when I got the nomination," Clinton said.
That is the Democrat Party's open wound: the base that nominated El-Sayed will not show up for any Democrat who cannot match his positions.
And the voters who rejected those positions in the primary were not enough to stop him.
Michigan Senate Race Now a Test Case for Communist Label
Even James Carville – the strategist behind Bill Clinton's 1992 win – told reporters he would walk away from the party if socialist Twitch streamer Hasan Piker ends up as its national face.
El-Sayed's former Clinton advisor and bundler Al Mottur said it in July: "A lot of these people do not love America and I'm not team Democrat, I'm team America."
Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer endorsed Stevens as a last-ditch effort to block El-Sayed.
Chuck Schumer backed Stevens.
El-Sayed won anyway.
Trump saw the result and called it "great news" – not as spin, but because Republican nominee Mike Rogers now faces a candidate whose platform is a general election liability in a swing state.
An Epic MRA poll taken before the primary showed Rogers already beating El-Sayed 46 to 43.
The communist takeover of the Democrat Party is real – and even Hillary Clinton cannot pretend otherwise.
And the attack she called "very effective" will be running on every television in Michigan from Labor Day through Election Day.
