Hakeem Jeffries Slammed the Ilhan Omar Raid and It Blew Up in His Face

Agents from Homeland Security Investigations raided Ilhan Omar's Washington home at the break of dawn.

Within hours, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries issued a statement condemning the raid.

The statement Jeffries put his name is about to run headfirst into seven years of his statements.

DHS Agents Raid Ilhan Omar's Home Over Immigration Fraud Investigation

The raid is part of an ongoing criminal investigation that DHS has been building for months.

Border Czar Tom Homan confirmed that HSI investigators reviewed Rep. Ilhan Omar's file and found evidence of immigration fraud.

"I know things are going on," Homan said on Fox News, adding that a fraud investigator he knows personally – one of the best in HSI – had reviewed the file and told him there was immigration fraud involved.

Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin went further in September.

He confirmed the investigation extends well beyond the long-disputed allegation that Omar married her brother to bring him into the country as part of a visa fraud scheme.

Mullin warned publicly that consequences – including potential removal actions – could follow if wrongdoing is proven.

JD Vance didn't mince words in March.

"Ilhan Omar definitely committed immigration fraud against the United States of America," the Vice President said, and he added that investigators were asking what legal remedies remained.

Omar is a naturalized citizen.

That means any fraud conviction could trigger denaturalization proceedings – a process that would strip her of the citizenship she used to build a career attacking the country that gave it to her.

She has denied all allegations.

Hakeem Jeffries Called the Ilhan Omar Raid Weaponization and His Own Record Answered

The moment the raid broke, Jeffries released a statement calling it "deeply disturbing" and accusing the Trump administration of "corrupt weaponization of the federal government."

Minority Whip Katherine Clark and Democratic Caucus Chairman Pete Aguilar signed on.

The trio condemned what they called Trump's "violent mass deportation machine."

What Jeffries forgot is that his past statements are still on the internet.

When Trump came under Justice Department investigation in 2017, Jeffries went on CNN to announce that "no person in this country is above the rule of law, even the President of the United States."

When Trump was impeached in 2019, Jeffries thundered from the House floor: "We will impeach Donald John Trump. We will clarify that in America, no one is above the law."

When Trump was indicted for mishandling classified documents in 2023, Jeffries and Chuck Schumer released a joint statement – "No one is above the law – including Donald Trump."

When the Supreme Court ruled on presidential immunity in 2024, Jeffries said it again: "No one, including the twice-impeached former President, should be above the law."

He said it so many times it became a personal brand.

And on Monday, when federal agents showed up at a congresswoman's door because a fraud investigator reviewed her file and found evidence of immigration fraud, Jeffries screamed weaponization.

Thousands of Americans made sure Jeffries saw every word he'd written – held up against the statement he'd just released.

Jeffries Said No One Is Above the Law for Seven Years Then Shielded Ilhan Omar

Democrats like Jeffries never believed "no one is above the law" for a single day.

When Trump was indicted on January 6th charges, Jeffries and Schumer didn't express concern about weaponization – they put their names on a joint statement calling it accountability for "one of the saddest and most infamous days in American history."

They believed the law was a weapon – and they held the handle.

The same man who applauded every Trump indictment, who called accountability a form of "clarification" when it was aimed at Republicans, cannot handle federal agents showing up with a warrant for someone on his team.

DHS doesn't raid sitting members of Congress on a whim.

That's the law doing exactly what Jeffries spent seven years demanding it do.

If Ilhan Omar has nothing to hide, she has nothing to fear – the standard Jeffries set for Donald Trump.

The hypocrisy on display Monday wasn't subtle.

It was the entire Democratic Party's operating philosophy, exposed in real time: accountability is for their enemies, immunity is for their allies, and "no one is above the law" was always a slogan – never a principle.
