The show Duck Dynasty took America by storm when it first aired in 2012.

Americans have grown to love the Robertson family over the years.

But Franklin Graham just issued one prayer request that left Duck Dynasty fans feeling depressed.

From 2012 to 2017, A&E’s Duck Dynasty was the most popular show on television.

The series portrays the lives of the Robertson family and their family-operated business, Duck Commander.

As Wikipedia notes, “the bearded Robertsons – brothers Phil and Si, and Phil’s sons Jase, Willie, and Jep – are the poster characters for the show.”

The fourth season premiere in 2013 drew 11.8 million viewers, making it the most watched nonfiction cable series in history.

With a 5.0 rating, it’s also the highest rated telecast for A&E of all time.

But what really stood out about Duck Dynasty was the deeply-held religious beliefs of the Robertson family.

The Robertson family members are all devout Christians who are not ashamed to admit it.

Even though the show ended in 2017, the Robertson family has remained in the public spotlight over the years through their Unashamed with the Robertson Family podcast.

Phil Robertson is the patriarch of the family and was the most popular person on the show.

But Franklin Graham recently issued a prayer request for the Robertson family that left fans of the show feeling depressed.

Graham asked his followers to pray for Phil Robertson as he struggles with Alzheimer’s.

“Would you join me in praying for Phil Robertson, his wife Miss Kay, and their family?” Graham wrote on social media. “Phil is having serious health issues, and his son Jase said he’s in quite a bit of pain and ‘unable to sit down and have a conversation,’” Graham continued. “I’ve appreciated Phil’s bold faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and the way he points to the Word of God.”

“Will you lift him up in prayer today?” Graham concluded.

On a recent episode of their podcast, Jase revealed that his father had a “blood disease” as well as “early stages” of Alzheimer’s.

“Phil’s not doing well,” Jase explained. “I think I spoke on the 1,000th podcast, we were kind of trying to figure out the diagnosis, but according to the doctors, they’re sure that he has some sort of blood disease that’s causing all kinds of problems.”

He said his condition had  “accelerated” and was “causing problems with his entire body.”

“And, he has early stages of Alzheimer’s,” Jase said. “So, if you put those things together, he’s just not doing well – he’s really struggling.”

Millions of Americans are suffering from Alzheimer’s.

There is currently no cure for the debilitating condition.

And Franklin Graham is asking fans of Duck Dynasty to turn to the Lord and pray for Phil.
