Democrats have made illegal aliens their highest priority during Donald Trump’s second term.
One blue county just insulted every hardworking American taxpayer.
And a former federal prosecutor who ran ICE has a name for what the Arlington County Board did.
Virginia County Board Hands Taxpayer Money to Illegal Alien Families With No Proof Required
The Arlington County, Virginia Board voted unanimously to set aside $50,000 in taxpayer funds for families whose breadwinners were detained or deported by ICE.
Each family can collect up to $2,000.
No proof of detention or employment records required.
The county is routing the money through Arlington Thrive, a nonprofit that provides emergency financial assistance to Arlington families.
Board Chairman Matt de Ferranti called it proud and urgent work.
"This investment in our families is about the urgency we have seen in our community in the last month," de Ferranti said. "We are going to respond with care. And we are going to respond proudly."
Board Member Maureen Coffey agreed. "I'm very proud of us for doing this," she said.
The vote came directly in response to a major ICE operation across Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Maryland that resulted in the arrests of roughly 1,300 illegal aliens.
The Department of Homeland Security confirmed that nearly 400 of those arrested had been convicted of or charged with crimes in the United States.
The Arlington board reviewed those numbers and decided to help the families of people ICE removed.
Arlington homeowners who paid their taxes, followed the law, and never asked for a thing got a $500 bill.
Illegal alien families get $2,000 – no questions asked.
Jonathan Fahey Cites Alien Harboring Statute Against Arlington County
Former Acting ICE Director and federal prosecutor Jonathan Fahey read what Arlington County did and named the law they may have broken.
"Arlington County is putting aside money for presumably people that are not even legal in the country, as opposed to giving it to Arlington County residents or American citizens," Fahey told Fox News Digital.
The statute Fahey cited is 8 U.S.C. 1324 – the alien harboring law – which makes it a federal crime to encourage or induce an illegal alien to remain in the United States.
"I think Arlington County has a real problem with that statute," Fahey said.
He said the cash transfer will draw more illegal aliens into the county, not fewer.
"They're going to induce more illegal aliens into Arlington County, which will also cost the taxpayers even more money," Fahey added.
Department of Homeland Security leadership was equally direct.
Arlington County chose illegal aliens over the Americans who pay for everything – the homeowners who work hard, follow the rules, and fund every dollar this board spends.
The harboring statute is not a minor regulatory concern.
A conviction under 8 U.S.C. 1324 carries up to five years in federal prison – per count – and each individual beneficiary is a separate count.
From 911 Calls on ICE Agents to Checks for Illegal Alien Families
Matt de Ferranti did not arrive at this vote by accident.
In January, he publicly told Arlington residents to call 911 whenever they spotted ICE agents working in the community.
He framed it as a law enforcement coordination tool – a way to redirect county resources toward real public safety.
The board has now layered financial incentives on top of that surveillance infrastructure.
Arlington County sends money to anyone who claims a family member was taken – and keeps no record of where it goes.
The DOJ is already suing neighboring Maryland for what it called an "active and deliberate effort" to prevent deportations of illegal aliens.
Last week, a Virginia judge placed a temporary injunction on a key part of a state law designed to limit local cooperation with ICE.
The legal scaffolding holding Arlington's sanctuary operation together is coming apart.
The pattern emerging across the DC metro region – Arlington funding illegal alien families, Maryland obstructing deportations, Virginia passing laws to limit ICE cooperation – is not spontaneous.
These boards and legislatures are running a deliberate strategy to make federal immigration enforcement too expensive and too politically costly to execute.
Arlington County is doing its part.
Those homeowners worked hard, paid their taxes, and played by the rules.
The board raised their taxes $500, then handed that money to illegal alien families who never paid into the system at all.
In Arlington County, following the rules is a punishment.
