Family Feud is one of the most popular game shows on television.

Its popularity is in large part due to host Steve Harvey’s wit and humor.

But Family Feud executives are on the verge of ditching Steve Harvey for this insane reason.

The first episode of the popular game show Family Feud aired nearly 50 years ago in 1976.

The show was a hit and continued for nine more seasons until its last episode aired in June of 1985.

But it wasn’t over for Family Feud.

CBS relaunched the show, and it aired from 1988 until 1993.

Family Feud returned to television once again in 1999, where it has remained ever since.

There have been six hosts of the show throughout the years.

Richard Dawson was the first host and was followed by Ray Combs, Louie Anderson, Richard Karn, John O’Hurley, and current host Steve Harvey.

Harvey hosted his first episode of Family Feud in September of 2010 and is the current host of the popular game show.

Harvey has the longest tenure of any host in Family Feud history.

His humorous personality increased the show’s Nielsen ratings significantly and made it one of the top three most popular syndicated television shows in the United States.

“In the more game-oriented shows, the host is essentially a traffic cop,” TV historian Tim Brooks told The Daily Beast. “On the other hand, someone like Steve Harvey is very involved with the contestants.”

But rumors are circulating that Harvey is starting to become a little bit too wild for the show’s executives to handle.

“Steve Harvey is in a powerful position as host of Family Feud, but sources exclusively tell Closer the way he blows his top at contestants has his bosses worried he might turn into another Pat Sajak — who became irritable toward the end of his Wheel of Fortune run,” Closer Weekly reported.

Closer Weekly specifically cited a recent episode in which Harvey told a contestant that his answer was the “stupidest” he’d ever heard during his time on the show.

“Sources say the outburst had execs burying their faces in their hands,” Closer Weekly reported.

Speaking on anonymity, one insider told Closer Weekly that “Steve’s king of the hill and has become an intrinsic part of the show’s success — but insulting contestants and calling their answers stupid right to their face is the last thing people need.”

“It’s got people around him panicky,” the insider claimed. “They’re concerned Steve’s working too hard. Maybe there’s pressure at home that’s getting to him and making him short-tempered.”

For now, Steve Harvey remains the host.

And according to insiders, they expect this “phase” to eventually pass.

“Everyone’s hoping this is just a phase of his and not Sajak-gate all over again!” the insider said.
