Before deciding to run for President in 2015, Donald Trump amassed considerable wealth after building one of the most impressive real estate empires in American history.
He had little to gain from running for President, with most people in his position instead choosing to live their golden years in luxury.
And ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith is claiming that Donald Trump ran for President to seek revenge for this failed business deal.
Trump decided to run for President after suffering this crushing blow according to Smith
Most Americans dream of retiring to somewhere warm after toiling away for their entire adult life.
Undoubtedly, President-elect Donald Trump dreamed of a lavish retirement after making billions during his illustrious career.
But things did not work out like that, with Donald Trump instead deciding to run for President three times, despite the many threats to his freedom and life.
On this week’s episode of Bill Maher’s Club Random podcast, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith spoke about his experiences with Donald Trump.
Not only did Stephen A. Smith claim that he does not believe Donald Trump is a so-called “racist” – even though he never once denounced his fellow Democrats’ claims until Trump won last month’s election – he also admitted to Maher that he used to communicate with Donald Trump before he ran for office.
Stephen A. Smith told Bill Maher that Donald Trump even called him in 2014, asking Stephen A. Smith whether he should buy the Buffalo Bills.
“He called me in 2014,” Smith told Maher. “This is a true story… He says, ‘Stephen A., I’m trying to buy the Buffalo Bills.’ Price tag was $1.4 billion. He had about $1.1 billion. I was being told he wasn’t gonna get the team.”
Stephen A. Smith added, “He said, ‘Stephen A., if these motherf**kers get in my way’ – talking about the NFL owners – ‘these motherf**kers get in my way, I’m gonna get them all back. I’m gonna run for president.’ That’s what he said!”
Donald Trump did not successfully purchase the Buffalo Bills, and one year later, he announced his intentions to run for President of the United States. The rest is history.
Although this story indicates that Trump’s failure to acquire the Buffalo Bills motivated him to run for president, Donald Trump had signaled his desire to run for the office for decades.
However, as Stephen A. Smith noted, his inability to acquire the Buffalo Bills could have been the straw that broke his back.
Trump has risked life and limb to serve the American people
If given billions of dollars, most people would retire to a tropical island somewhere far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
However, Donald Trump decided to run for the highest office in the land, a job that most people could not handle.
Along the way, Donald Trump has survived at least two assassination attempts, along with countless attacks on his character and his motives, which most people would not be able to handle.
