Elon Musk is set to play a critical role in the incoming Trump administration.

Alongside Vivek Ramaswamy, he will be leading the newly-created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

And Elon Musk burst into laughter when a top Democrat threw this ridiculous Hail Mary to torpedo DOGE.

Politicians in both political parties have spent decades spending money like drunken sailors in Washington, D.C.

As Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) recently pointed out, the government spends untold sums of taxpayer dollars each year on things like “$1.5 million to encourage video gaming in New York” and “nearly $1 million to study if cocaine makes Japanese quail more sexually promiscuous.”

The wasteful spending has skyrocketed the national debt to more than $35 trillion.

But this is expected to change once President-elect Donald Trump takes office in January.

Trump announced the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and put Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy in charge of it.

Under the direction of Musk and Ramaswamy, DOGE is tasked with auditing the federal government for waste and recommending spending cuts to Congress.

Ramaswamy recently shared part of their plans for DOGE in an interview with Sunday Morning Futures where he said they may just “delete” entire government agencies.

“Over the last 40 years, even conservatives, we’ve talked a big game for 40 years about cutting the federal government, about reducing the scope of the federal government,” Ramaswamy said. “Politicians haven’t been able to do it, and so Elon and I, we’re not politicians, we’re businessmen, we’re coming at it from the outside,” he continued. “Sometimes, if you go inside, you become native to the system.”

“We expect certain agencies to be deleted outright,” he added. “We expect mass reductions in force in areas of the federal government that are bloated.”

Not everyone in Washington, D.C. is excited over the idea of rolling back big government and reducing the national debt.

But the excuse some are using for being against DOGE is outrageous to say the least.

Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) recently appeared on CNN’s Newsroom where she voiced her strong opposition to DOGE.

She told host Jim Acosta that DOGE “is illegal.”

“There is no such Department of Government Efficiency, it’s made up,” she said. “So good luck to them.”

Lofgren then pretended to care about the U.S. Constitution when she cited it as the reason for her opposition.

“You know they haven’t asked to meet with me, but the impoundment of funds that have been appropriated by the Congress is unconstitutional and illegal,” Lofgren said. “I mean, if, um, if there is a plan that President Trump wants to propose to the Congress he should send it to us but the Constitution does not permit the president to simply avoid what the Congress has done.”

Of course, Musk will find Lofgren’s claim laughable.

Democrats couldn’t care less about the U.S. Constitution.

These are the same Democrats who routinely support violating the First and Second Amendments by banning guns and regulating speech.

Lofgren is terrified because she knows Musk and Ramaswamy are about to take a sledgehammer to the big government she loves.
