Donald Trump and CNN have been at each other’s throats for nearly a decade.
But his second term is unlike anything the network has seen before.
And Donald Trump was blindsided when CNN praised him for this unexpected reason.
Donald Trump keeps his promise on the border
President Donald Trump began issuing executive orders on his first day in office to secure the border.
It didn’t take long for his return to the White House to pay dividends.
Illegal border crossings have been down dramatically since Trump took office.
New U.S. Border Patrol chief Michael Banks revealed that the number of illegal aliens stopped at the southern border is down 90% since January 21 – Trump’s first full day in office.
CNN host Abby Phillip praised Trump for the “good optics” the administration has created to convey to voters that the President is delivering on their promises.
She said the high-profile early raids with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents gave the public sense the administration was delivering.
“Here’s the thing. Whether you support Trump or you don’t, the imagery projects promises made, promises kept on immigration,” Phillip explained. “Even the liberals understand and believe that Trump is carrying out that promise, and part of it is the way he is doing it, using military airplanes, doing it on camera, taking Dr. Phil along with him.”
Reality show star Dr. Phil McGraw and other members of the media accompanied ICE on some of their raids.
The images coming from the southern border portray a sense of calm and that the government is in control compared to under former President Joe Biden.
Democrat admits that Trump has good optics
Former Kamala campaign senior adviser Adrienne Elrod said that Biden’s Presidency would have benefited from the strong visuals that Trump is getting.
But former Republican National Committee spokeswoman Madison Geslotto argued that it worked for Trump because unlike Biden he was delivering on his campaign promises.
“I think the reason the optics are working so well for President Trump is just because of what Abby said, he made all of these promises, whether you like them or not,” Geslotto explained. “This is what he promised to voters on the campaign trail throughout this cycle, he’s doing exactly what he said he’d do and not only is he doing it, he’s doing it at a speed that I don’t think a lot of Republicans expected.”
Trump issued executive orders ending Biden’s catch-and-release policy for illegal aliens, reestablishing the “Remain in Mexico” policy, and declaring a national emergency at the southern border.
That and Trump’s tough talk sent a message to the world to steer clear of the southern border.
Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth surged 1,600 troops to the southern border to assist with securing it.
The southern border has undergone a dramatic transition from when Biden was in the White House.
Donald Trump is carrying out his promises to voters to secure the border and remove illegal aliens from the country.
Even CNN can’t deny that the early returns for Trump are impressive so far.
