Melania Trump has kept a lower profile during this Presidential campaign.

Speculation is growing about what role she is going to play this year.

And Donald Trump made one confession about Melania that took everyone by surprise.

The toll politics takes on the Trump family

Politics has always been a family affair for former President Donald Trump, dating back to his first run in 2015.

Former First Lady Melania Trump hasn’t been as visible during this campaign.

She spent time caring for her sick mother, who passed away in January.

Melania has made a few appearances since then but hasn’t taken an active role, which has led to baseless rumors from the media.

The former President was asked about his wife’s role in the campaign during an interview with The Daily Mail.

“Well, I would like to. It’s not a question of that. It’s a nasty world for me,” Trump stated.

Trump referenced the vicious treatment that his family has received from Democrats and their media allies.

“It’s not nasty for Democrats like it is for me,” Trump explained. “And I would like to have my family not have to go out there and go in front of some of the things that you know happen.”

The former President said that Melania really cared about the country.

“She’ll do whatever necessary,” Trump said. “But my kids haven’t been treated properly. She hasn’t been treated properly.”

Barron Trump’s surprising role in the campaign

Trump is keeping the pressure on Vice President Kamala Harris after her hot start to the race.

He thought that the honeymoon was coming to an end for her.

“You know, they had no bounce [after] their convention. You saw the numbers,” Trump explained.

Kamala didn’t get the typical bounce in the polls coming out of the Democrat National Convention.

“And the reason is, she won’t talk to anybody,” Trump stated. “So it’s either because she can’t explain how she changed every single policy she had, or she’s incompetent.”

Trump’s youngest son, Barron, has become a key advisor to the former President when it comes to reaching younger voters.

A New York Times/Siena poll found that Trump had a 13 advantage with men aged 18-29.

He’s been making appearances on popular podcasts to appeal to this demographic on the advice of Barron.

“He knows so much about it,” Trump said. “Adin Ross, you know, I mean, I do some people that I wasn’t so familiar with, different generation. He knows every one of them. And we’ve had tremendous success.”

Trump appeared on a livestream with top Kick streamer Adin Ross, whose streams generate hundreds of thousands of live Gen Z viewers and millions more through clips on social media.

The former President also appeared on Barron’s favorite podcast, comedian Theo Von’s This Past Weekend.

“We did three unusual. I don’t know what you’d call them, but it’s a platform with three people that I don’t know, but three people that Barron knows very well,” Trump said trying to describe his appearances on the podcast circuit.

“He actually calls all of them like friends of his, because it’s a different generation. They don’t grow up watching television the same way as we did. They grow up looking at the Internet or watching a computer, right?” he added.

Donald Trump is getting creative to reach new audiences with his America First message.
