Democrats think that Kamala Harris is about to run away with the Presidential race.

But the state of play for the election isn’t what they think.

And Democrats received one dire warning about Donald Trump that left them trembling with fear.

Democrat pollster gives a hard truth about the Presidential race

Vice President Kamala Harris surged out of the gates after she entered the Presidential race.

She’s taken a slim lead in RealClearPolitics’ national polling average, while battleground state polls have gone back and forth between her and former President Donald Trump.

Exuberance is high amongst Democrats after Kamala’s coronation gave the Party a shot in the arm of enthusiasm.

Democrat pollster Celinda Lake warned her Party not to “underestimate” voters that Trump can turn out who don’t show up in polls.

She said during an appearance on the Pod Save America podcast that she was concerned that polls were underestimating Trump’s support.

“So originally against Biden I was not at all worried about it,” Lake said. “There was no such thing as a shy Trump voter for God’s sakes … like we’re gonna make Trump more MAGA? So I was not worried about it at all.”

Lake said that she was concerned about Trump voters not answering the phone calls from a pollster.

Trump could have a secret weapon in November

She explained that pollsters have had to change up their methods to try to account for the electorate that will show up in November.

“But I’m always nervous about that and I’m always nervous about their surge in turnout,” Lake explained. “They’ve also done a lot more in terms of vote by mail. They’re now getting into vote by mail and Trump specifically wants vote by mail. That’s dangerous from two aspects — it’s dangerous because it may up their turnout.”

The Trump campaign has embraced early voting and mail-in ballots this election cycle after watching Democrats use those methods to secure wins in 2020 and 2022.

In battleground states like Pennsylvania and Arizona, there are efforts to actively chase down ballots from Republicans, who are voting by mail.

She also worried that husbands could affect their wives’ votes this year.

“Women when they can vote in the voting booth get to make up their own mind, with their own priorities. Husbands and wives sit down together to vote by mail and so she’s ready enthusiastically marking Hillary or Harris and her husband says, ‘What are you doing? We’re not Harris voters we’re voting for Trump’ and then she goes, ‘Oh enough I’m not fighting about this.’ So that worries me too,” Lake said.

Trump has a lead over Kamala, who’s more trusted to handle issues like the economy, immigration, and crime.

“So, yes, I am concerned and I think hopefully you know the current polls — four points ahead nine points ahead among Independents …” Lake continued. “But yes I always worry that we should not underestimate the Trump’s [sic], as disgusted as we get they can get reinforced.”

The Presidential race is a coin flip right now, with most swing states within the margin of error.

And the only way Donald Trump will return to the White House is if his supporters show up in force.
