The near assassination of Donald Trump exposed deep problems in the Secret Service.

Problems at the troubled agency have gone on longer than anyone realized.

And Dan Bongino sent Washington, D.C. into hysterics by exposing one bombshell about the Secret Service.

Secret Service failed to secure Mar-a-Lago

The Secret Service has been under the microscope after dozens of security failures allowed a gunman to shoot former President Donald Trump in the ear at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13.

Damning evidence has come out about how the agency made numerous preventable mistakes.

But the problems with Trump’s Secret Service detail predate the Butler rally, where he was nearly assassinated.

Trump changed his primary residence from New York to his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach County, Florida back in 2019.

RealClearPolitics National Political Correspondent Susan Crabtree reported that a juvenile managed to make past security into Mar-a-Lago last December.

The juvenile was on the grounds of Mar-a-Lago for an hour and even managed to jump in the pool.

“One source said the intruder did a ‘cannon-ball’ into the pool, but another could only confirm that the young person jumped into the pool,” Crabtree wrote.

Police eventually arrested the juvenile.

No one on Trump’s Secret Service detail was punished for this alarming security failure, according to Crabtree.

But the Secret Service issued a statement claiming agents were held “accountable.”

“The juvenile was apprehended and taken into custody by Palm Beach Police Department officers. The U.S. Secret Service takes these matters extremely seriously, and at the time, an investigation was immediately launched, and certain U.S. Secret Service personnel were held accountable in accordance with agency protocols. We remain thankful to the Town of Palm Beach Police Department and Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office for their response and strong partnership,” the Secret Service said in a statement.

Secret Service denied extra protection for Trump

The Secret Service complained about how difficult it was to secure Mar-a-Lago instead of doing their jobs.

“The entire compound is alarmed and secured, but because Mar-a-Lago is an active club, its security has proven particularly difficult for the Secret Service,” Crabtree wrote.

Former Secret Service agent turned conservative commentator Dan Bongino said at a recent forum on the assassination attempt hosted by the Heritage Foundation that a “direct source” in the Secret Service told him that the agency’s “leadership” shot down a request for “enhanced” protection because Mar-a-Lago was too difficult to secure because it is a “night club.”

Bongino explained that the mission of the Secret Service is to solve problems like this.

Crabtree noted that the Secret Service seemed more concerned when it came to the security of members of the Biden-Harris regime.

Someone broke into the home of Biden-Harris National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan in the middle of the night last year.

That breach resulted in the Secret Service pulling two supervisors from the Presidential Protective Division from that detail.

Sources in the Secret Service told Crabtree that the Mar-a-Lago security breach was a sign the detail assigned to protect Trump isn’t being held to the same standard as other protectees.

The problems at the Secret Service have been going on longer than anyone realized.
