Every major poll has Democrats winning back the House in November.
CNN's own data analyst just showed his viewers a number that contradicts that narrative.
What a CNN analyst revealed on that screen has four swing states looking nothing like the media promised.
Republican Voter Registration Gains in Four Swing States Have Democrats on Defense
Harry Enten is CNN's chief data analyst – the network's own numbers man, paid to make sense of the political landscape for a left-leaning audience.
He put four swing states on the screen and told that audience something they weren't ready to hear.
In Arizona, Republicans have increased their registration edge over Democrats by three points compared to this same point during Trump's first term.
In Nevada – a state Democrats once counted as a firewall – Republicans have sliced into the Democrat advantage by six points.
In Pennsylvania, the gap has swung eight points toward Republicans.
And in North Carolina, Republicans just crossed a threshold that has never happened in the state's recorded history – for the first time ever, more North Carolinians are registered Republican than Democrat.
Enten said: "The Republican Party is in their best position at this point in the cycle since at least 2005."

For North Carolina specifically, he couldn't find a single point in modern political history where Republicans were doing better.
That is two decades of momentum compressed into one election cycle.
Republicans have slashed more than one million voters off the Democrat registration advantage nationally since the 2024 election, and the swing-state numbers are the sharpest part of that story.
In Pennsylvania alone, the Democrat registration lead has collapsed by more than 113,000 voters.
Conservative activist Scott Presler spent the last two years registering Republican voters across swing states while Democrats held Zoom fundraisers.
CNN just showed you the scoreboard.
The president's party almost always loses seats in midterm elections – Republicans lost 40 House seats in 2018, Democrats lost 63 in 2010 – and Republicans are expanding their registration rolls against that same headwind while CNN cannot explain it away.
Voter Registration Has Always Predicted Midterm Elections Better Than Polling
Turn on any cable network and the story is the same – polls have Democrats well ahead in the congressional ballot.
Polls measure what people say they plan to do – voter registration is what they actually did about it.
The difference matters more than any anchor wants to explain on television.
Political scientists who study turnout have found that simply counting who signed up outperforms polling, demographic data, and early vote numbers when forecasting how elections actually turn out – and it isn't close.
When you sign your name on a form and make it legal, that is not a poll response – it is a decision.
Right now, in four states that will decide control of the House and potentially the Senate, Republicans are making that decision at a rate CNN clearly was not prepared to report.
Enten – again, this is CNN – compared the Democrat Party's current brand to the Cracker Barrel rebrand.
His word: "Bad, bad, bad."
Democrats are banking on the same polls that told you Hillary Clinton would win.
Why Democrats Would Need a Miracle in the 2026 Midterm Swing States
Every new Republican in Arizona, Nevada, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania represents someone who walked away from the Democrat Party and signed their name to prove it.
These are not soft Republicans who might stay home – these are people who made a legal declaration.
The geography is the point.
This is not happening in Alabama or Wyoming – it is happening in exactly the states that decide which party controls Congress.
Trump swept all seven major swing states in 2024 riding registration momentum and genuine voter enthusiasm, and this is that same pattern running bigger in states where Republicans now hold advantages they have never held before.
Democrat polling has looked strong all year while their voter rolls have bled in every state that matters.
In a midterm election where turnout is everything, the party that already has voters on the rolls walks into November with the advantage.
Republicans are already on the rolls. All they have to do is show up.
