Chuck Schumer’s back is against the wall heading into Election Day.

He’s pulling out all the stops to keep Democrats’ Senate majority.

And Chuck Schumer launched one sick attack that confirmed he’s scared as hell.

Democrats turn to dirty tricks in Ohio Senate race

The battle for control of the Senate is turning into a nightmare for Democrats.

Both parties concede that West Virginia’s Senate seat is most likely going to be a Republican pickup after Senator Joe Manchin (I-WV) retired.

Momentum is also shifting toward Republicans in high-profile races in Wisconsin and Michigan.

Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) is in deep trouble in his race in the increasingly red state of Montana.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is facing the prospect of losing control of Democrats’ narrow 51-49 majority.

But he’s not going down without a fight.

Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) is in the toughest race of his political career against his Republican Senate challenger Bernie Moreno, a Cleveland area businessman who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump.

The political terrain in Ohio has shifted since Brown was first elected in 2006, and it was one of the most important swing states in the country.

Former President Donald Trump won the state by eight points in 2016 and 2020.

Democrats are turning to dirty tricks in a state that’s becoming increasingly hostile to them.

Moreno was born into a prominent family in Colombia before immigrating to the United States as a child.

Delaware County Democrat Party chair Peg Watkins took a shot at Moreno’s background during an event for Brown.

She accused Moreno of coming from Colombia to “take advantage of America’s wealth and greatness.”

“So we are doing everything we can to stop him from invading our Senate,” Watkins claimed.

Schumer is getting in on the action by running ads from a PAC connected to him that make scary claims about Moreno’s ties to the South American country.

“Moreno’s powerful Colombian family funneled our money to Latin American banks for so-called development projects — projects his family invested millions in, and then they funneled money back to Bernie, the perfect cover for Bernie to cash in,” the ad says. “Our tax dollars — a Moreno family windfall. Bernie Moreno only cares about himself.”

Schumer is desperate and dangerous

Moreno has been an American citizen for 40 years.

If Republicans attacked a Democrat candidate for being an immigrant from Latin America, it would be a front-page story.

“The idea that you would question my integrity or the idea that I would be somehow tied to illicit operations in South America is disgusting,” Moreno added. “It’s gross, and, quite frankly, I’m sick of it.”

Jai Chabria – an advisor to Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH) – called out the hypocrisy of the attacks.

“The Democratic pundits believe this is the biggest toss-up in the country. If the shoe was on the other foot and this was said about a Democrat in this race, Jimmy Kimmel would be talking about it in his monologue,” Chabria said.

Schumer and Democrats are desperate to find something to attack Moreno to change the trajectory of the race.

Bernie Moreno is starting to pull ahead in the polls and Democrats fear they could be on the verge of losing another Senate seat.
