Churches around the world are under pressure to accept the new cultural trends of today.
While some Christians are pushing back and holding tight to their values, not everyone is committed.
And now Christians are going bananas over this major denomination’s woke extremist desecration of Biblical truth.
Church of England begins “adapting” tradition to appease woke extremists
In September 1999, the Church of England released a “teaching document” that was meant to be used to “commend the gift of marriage. . .and as a basis for teaching. . .”
The document aimed to “reaffirm” the Church’s position on marriage ahead of the new millennium.
The doctrine stated that sexual intercourse “belongs within marriage exclusively,” as does the “procreation and nurture of children.”
The Church also reiterated that marriage is not an institution meant for same-sex or transgender couples—but rather between a man and a woman.
The bishops that worked on the official guidance may have seen the cultural upheaval that was coming for the Church in the early decades of the 21st century.
According to The Christian Post, in 2018, the Church began “adapting” their Affirmation of Baptism to include trans-identified individuals.
The Church of England didn’t stop there, and just months later they began to approve of marriages that involved trans-identified individuals “as long as the spouses were of opposite sexes.”
Later, in 2024, disgraced Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby would resign after going against doctrine to affirm same-sex marriages.
“Radical Christian Inclusion” seeks to explore “clear queer characters” in Bible
LGBT Faith UK (LFU) was founded by former Anglican priest Colin Coward in hopes of making the Church more inclusive.
Coward takes inclusivity a step further by saying Christians must be “radical” in their inclusivity.
According to their website, “Radical Christian Inclusion embraces unconditionally lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and queer people.”
But what Coward really wants is to upend what he sees as a “patriarchal, heteronormative, white, western privileged culture” Church.
Now, LFU has released pamphlets promoting their ideology that state, “not everyone in the Bible is cisgender.”
“The Bible Affirms” series includes three downloadable pamphlets: one that centers around gays and lesbians, one about bisexuals, and one focused on trans and queer people.
Coward and his team want people to know that there are “clear queer characters” in the Bible and even went as far as calling King David bisexual because of his relationship with Jonathan.
On the topic of transgenderism, they believe the Samaritan woman at the well was “intersex” and that eunuchs are the “biblical ancestors” of transgender people in the modern era.
The goal of their pamphlets is to continue their campaign of “Radical Inclusion” until every Christian turns their back on the Word of God.
Woke ideology makes church “more exclusive” of Christian values
Now, British expatriate and Catholic cleric Calvin Robinson is issuing strong advice to Americans, “please don’t do what we did.”
“Please don’t just sit back and let the liberals deteriorate the rest of everything that you know and love,” he said in an interview with The Christian Post.
Robinson made the comments following his move from the United Kingdom to the U.S. in September of 2024.
“The Church of England has become very liberal in terms of divorce, sex outside marriage, same-sex relationships, and transgenderism” he said, adding that it would push out traditional Christians.
“Every time the Church tries to be more inclusive, it actually becomes more exclusive to Christianity and to Christian values, and more inclusive to worldly values and just further plummets. . .” he said.
Robinson says it is a “great shame” what has happened to the Church of England, and he believes the same thing is happening in the U.S.
Calvin said Americans must “be careful,” adding, “American culture is a fantastic culture. Hold on to it, promote it, encourage it.”
Recognizing the push for multiculturalism, the priest encouraged Americans to not let this transformation happen to their own “detriment.”
It’s time for Christians to take a stand “against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil,” as the Bible says in Ephesians 6:12.
