Chris Matthews spent over 20 years on the air as the host of MSNBC’s Hardball with Chris Matthews.

During his time at MSNBC, Matthews was one of the most left-wing, anti-Trump hosts in cable news.

But Chris Matthews referred to Donald Trump with two words that put Tulsi Gabbard’s jaw on the floor.

At 81 years old, President Joe Biden is only three years older than 78-year-old former President Donald Trump.

But it seemed like there were decades separating the two during the first Presidential debate in which Joe Biden’s senility was on full display for the entire world to see.

After spending the past several months defending Biden and attacking anyone who dared to question his cognitive abilities, Democrats and the media were in full panic mode following his dismal debate performance.

Former President Barack Obama’s 2008 Campaign Manager, David Plouffe, said, “They seemed about 30 years apart” even though “they are three years apart.”

Biden ally Joe Scarborough declared that Biden “tragically did not rise to the occasion last night.”

And former Obama top aide Jon Favreau bluntly called it “a f****** disaster.”

Biden’s performance was so bad that it caused Chris Matthews to say the last thing about Donald Trump anyone thought they’d ever hear.

Matthews appeared as a guest panelist on Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher.

Former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) joined Matthews on the panel.

Gabbard served as a Democrat in Congress but left the Party due to its woke, anti-American agenda.

She published a book about her leaving the Democrat Party entitled For Love of Country:  Leave the Democratic Party Behind.

Biden’s debate performance emerged as the main topic of discussion for the panelists.

Calling himself a “moderate,” Matthews pointed out how extremely left-wing Joe Biden has become in modern times.

“I think Biden has moved to the left, and that’s been a problem,” he said. “And he’s gotten woke and all that stuff, that’s all a problem.”

Gabbard, who served in the military, took issue with Joe Biden’s claim that no American soldiers have been killed during his time as President.

She correctly pointed out that 13 service members lost their lives during Biden’s botched withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Matthews agreed and took it one step further than Gabbard by asking why Joe Biden did not fire anyone for the disastrous withdrawal.

“I don’t understand, why weren’t the generals bounced after that disastrous retreat from Afghanistan?” Matthews said. “Nothing.”

Matthews then put Gabbard’s jaw on the floor when he praised Trump for his “really smart” comment at the debate.

“And he also said, I never — Trump had one really smart line,” Matthews said. “He said, you never fire anybody, and that’s a problem.”

“If you don’t fire anybody [in] an executive position, like Reagan got rid of the aircraft — air traffic controllers and that sent a message to the Soviet Union,” Matthews said. “They took him seriously after that,” he continued. “You’ve got to — why didn’t — I don’t understand, why weren’t the generals bounced after that disastrous retreat from Afghanistan?”

Many consider Biden’s withdrawal from Afghanistan to be the biggest failure of his Presidency.

It resulted in 13 dead soldiers, billions of dollars worth of weapons and equipment left behind, and put the Taliban back in charge of the country.

But as Matthews pointed out, not a single person has been held accountable for it.
