Cuomo says the media misses the mark on America First
Former CNN talking head Chris Cuomo was a typical Democrat mouthpiece in the media throughout his time at the network.
Getting fired from the poorly rated cable news network was apparently a bit of a wake-up call for him.
Cuomo landed at NewsNation where he’s stopped toeing the Democrat Party line.
On his podcast, The Chris Cuomo Project, Cuomo said that Democrats’ media allies get it wrong when they smear supporters of former President Donald Trump.
Trump supporters have been maligned and misunderstood by the media since the 2016 election.
Two-time failed Democrat Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton ranted about Trump supporters being a “basket of deplorables” in that election, and it came back to bite her.
“Man, if you want to punish, Trump is your boy,” Cuomo said. “He is the spirit animal of grievance. Something that we keep getting wrong in the media, and I think a lot of us just in general, is that you think people who support Trump are like Trump, and that’s not true.”
The former CNN host said the media gets it wrong when portraying the America First movement as “bigots.”
“Most of the people who support Trump are desperate to change the system, and they are willing to swallow everything that he isn’t because of what he is — which is a disruptive force of what they want changed,” Cuomo explained.
“Doesn’t mean that they’re just all bigots or that they all act like him or think like him or sound like him. They just want what he’s selling them, which is to change, disrupt, and break the system,” he continued. “Will he do it? I don’t think so, but that doesn’t matter. That’s for you to decide. That’s for all the voters to decide.”
The media foolishly spent the aftermath of the 2016 election trying to interview people at diners in the midwest to understand the America First movement.
Self-proclaimed “journalists” are virtually all the product of a handful of Democrat-controlled universities, are overwhelmingly based in New York City and Washington, D.C., and represent the views of the ruling class more than any other.
They’ve completely lost touch with the rest of the country, and rarely venture outside their Democrat bubble.
Pelosi channels her inner Hillary
It’s not just self-proclaimed “journalists” who look down on the Trump movement.
Democrat politicians have smeared Trump supporters for nearly a decade.
Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was asked why the Presidential election was such a tight race at the Texas Tribune Festival.
She claimed it was because a sizable portion of Republicans are supposedly “racist.”
“There are people who will never be, shall we say, inclined to support Democrats because of — they just have a different orientation toward women, people of color, LGBTQ, you know, they just are not ever going to be there,” Pelosi raved. “So, say that’s about like 30% or something like that … of the Republicans.”
Ruling class Democrats and their media allies live to smear their political opposition as hateful bigots.
