Bill Maher spent 30 years voting Democrat before he called his own party communist to their faces.
That was three months ago – and this week, he went further.
He just named the one day that proved Democrats have lost their minds completely.
Democrats Could Not Give Jews One Day on the October 7 Anniversary
The anniversary of Hamas killing 1,200 men, women, and children in Israel came last week.
Bill Maher told Chris Cuomo his own party couldn't even give them one day.
"I mean, it's interesting we're talking about this on October 7," Maher said. "Man, they can't even give them the one day."
He wasn't talking about Hakeem Jeffries.
He was talking about lifelong Democrats so consumed by pro-Hamas rage that they cannot pause the intifada cheerleading for a single day to acknowledge the deadliest morning for Jewish people since the Holocaust.
Maher told Cuomo the bigger threat is what comes after the midterms.
"A lot of the far Left will take Trump's loss," he warned. "They will misinterpret it as a recommendation for what they're trying to do."
Democrats are about to win elections they didn't earn – on anti-Trump energy that has nothing to do with abolishing the Senate, and the DSA will never know the difference.
The party won't correct them, either – because it can't afford to.
The midterms were always going to be a referendum on Trump – what nobody's saying out loud is what happens the morning after Democrats win.
DSA Communism Is Real and 35 Primary Wins Prove It
The Democratic Socialists of America backed 150 candidates in 2026 primaries and thirty-five of them won.
They didn't beat fringe opponents – they knocked off real incumbents, including the chairman of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.
One winner, Darializa Avila Chevalier, co-founded a Columbia University group that called for "death to America" on social media.
The DSA's written 2026 platform demands government seizure of major corporations, the end of police and prisons, and the elimination of the United States Senate.
That's not a campaign talking point – that's what candidates now heading to Congress put their names on.
Maher knows exactly what that is.
"When you talk about taking over the means of production and taking over all the private industries," he told Cuomo, "that's communism, folks. You can look it up."
He made the same call in July when he sat down with ABC's Jon Karl and said his 2028 vote was "in play."
"I'm not living in communist America," he said.
He told the room he'd vote for JD Vance first.
Democrats didn't listen in July and they're not listening now.
The party's so-called "sane wing" – Maher's phrase – stays quiet because they need DSA energy at the polls in November, and the establishment can't afford to push those voters away.
So they look away while candidates who called for "death to America" prepare to be sworn into Congress.
Why Bill Maher Said He Would Vote for JD Vance in 2028
The Tea Party gave Republicans a massive 2010 wave because it stood for things most Americans recognized – lower taxes, constitutional limits, getting government out of people's lives.
The DSA wants to abolish the police, abolish the Senate, and nationalize major companies.
Maher read the DSA's own platform out loud on HBO and made his studio audience gasp.
Every election cycle, the DSA consolidates more power inside a party that's afraid to confront it.
National polls already showed Americans think the Democrat Party has moved too far left – and that was before a single DSA candidate won a primary this cycle.
Now Democrats have thirty-five of them headed to Congress and are calling it momentum – Maher is watching a party destroy itself in slow motion.
When socialists seize the primary process, the voters who built the party don't flip – they walk.
Maher already walked, and every Democrat who doesn't want to live in communist America is doing the same math.
He told the sitting vice president of the United States his vote was "in play” during an interview this summer.
A lifelong Democrat who spent decades voting against Republicans just said he'd rather back JD Vance than watch America turn communist.
Democrats aren't listening.
