New York City Mayor Eric Adams is facing several charges related to donations to his 2021 campaign.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called on her fellow Democrat to resign.
But then all hell broke loose after New York City Mayor Eric Adams gave Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez a brutal reality check.
A grand jury recently indicted New York City Democrat Mayor Eric Adams on five charges related to contributions made to his 2021 campaign, “including from wealthy foreign businesspeople and at least one Turkish government official seeking to gain influence over him.”
The indictment followed an FBI raid on his home earlier this year in a search for evidence in their case.
The counts in the indictment are “Count one: Conspiracy to commit wire fraud, federal program bribery and to receive contributions by foreign nationals; Count two: Wire fraud; Count three: Solicitation of a contribution by a foreign national; Count four: Solicitation of a contribution by a foreign national; Count five: Bribery.”
“As Adams’s prominence and power grew, his foreign-national benefactors sought to cash in on their corrupt relationships with him, particularly when, in 2021, it became clear that Adams would become New York City’s mayor,” the indictment reads.
This makes Adams the first sitting Mayor in New York City’s history to face criminal charges.
In the lead up to the indictment being unsealed on Thursday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) interjected herself into the case by publicly demanding Mayor Adams step down from his position.
“I do not see how Mayor Adams can continue governing New York City,” she wrote on X. “The flood of resignations and vacancies are threatening gov function. Nonstop investigations will make it impossible to recruit and retain a qualified administration.”
“For the good of the city, he should resign,” she added.

So far, Mayor Adams has denied any wrongdoing.
He called the charges against him “entirely false.”
“My fellow New Yorkers, it is now my belief that the federal government intends to charge me with crimes,” Adams said in a video. “If so, these charges will be entirely false, based on lies.”
But Ocasio-Cortez interjecting herself into his criminal case sent Mayor Adams off the rails.
And Adams dropped the hammer on Ocasio-Cortez in a statement to Fox News Digital where he ripped her for supporting pro-criminal policies.
“For anyone who self-righteously claims people charged with serious crimes should not be in jail to now say that the second Black mayor of New York should resign because of rumors and innuendo — without even a single charge being filed — is the height of hypocrisy,” Adams wrote in the statement.
Ocasio-Cortez feuding with Adams is surprising given they both support the same woke agenda.
Adams turned New York City into a sanctuary for illegal aliens and provided them with free housing, fancy hotels, and free food.
Crime is sky-high and New York City residents are feeling the crunch.
During the pandemic, Adams also implemented tyrannical lockdowns and mask and vaccine mandates on New York City.
Ocasio-Cortez supported the same mandates.
But in yet another act of Democrat hypocrisy, she jetted down to Governor Ron DeSantis’ Florida to enjoy the sunshine without a face mask.
