Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez represents one of the most left-wing districts in the country.
But Donald Trump increased his share of the 2020 vote by 11% in her district in 2024.
And Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez gave Democrats a brutal reality check for why Donald Trump crushed Kamala Harris.
President-elect Donald Trump’s landslide victory shocked Democrats and their media allies.
After four years of attacking and smearing Trump as a “threat to democracy,” he still won every swing state, the electoral college, and the popular vote on Election Day.
Trump also won 55% of Hispanic men and 20% of black men in his landslide victory over Kamala Harris.
He even won 44% of the vote in the Democrat-controlled state of New York.
Democrats are pointing fingers and ripping each other to shreds about what led to Vice President Kamala Harris’ loss.
But instead of pointing fingers, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) decided to ask the voters why Donald Trump won by a landslide.
In 2020, 77% of Ocasio-Cortez’s district voted for President Joe Biden, but Trump increased his percentage to 33% in 2024.
Ocasio-Cortez specifically wanted to hear from her constituents who voted for her and for Trump.
“If you voted for Donald Trump and me, or if you voted for Donald Trump and voted Democratic down-ballot, I would really love to hear from you,” Ocasio-Cortez said on her Instagram story. “This is not a place of judgment, I’m not going to put your stuff on blast or anything like that, or dunk on it,” she continued. “That’s genuinely not the intent here.”
“I actually want to learn from you,” she added. “I want to hear what you were thinking.”
Social media users were quick to offer their views to Ocasio-Cortez.
“I feel that you both are outsiders compared to the rest of D.C., and less ‘establishment,’” one user replied.
“It’s real simple . . . Trump and you care for the working class,” another added.
“Trump is going to get us the money and let’s [sic] men have a voice,” one user told her. “You’re brilliant and have amazing passion!”
After allowing others to offer their views, Ocasio-Cortez gave her opinion as to what went wrong for Democrats on Election Day.
And according to Ocasio-Cortez, Democrats are at fault for running “fake politicians.”
“A lot of voters really don’t like fake people, and they’re sick and tired of fake politicians,” she said. “What I actually think is worse is saying something you don’t believe. If during the entire time of the campaign season, you’re saying that you’re down with trans people or the LGBT community and then you lose an election and then the next day you say all that stuff was wrong, I actually think what people are more upset about is someone was doing something they didn’t believe in just saying something.”
“If you actually weren’t about that life, why did you campaign as though you were?” she added.

Ocasio-Cortez actually has a point.
It’s hard to be more fake than Kamala Harris with her multiple accents and cackling laugh.
Whether you love him or hate him, it’s impossible not to admit that Donald Trump comes off as genuine.
