A top House Democrat offered up one lousy excuse for why Kamala Harris is avoiding the press

It’s been nearly three weeks since Vice President Kamala Harris emerged as the Democrat nominee following Joe Biden’s departure from the race.

But she has basically been in hiding the entire time, only coming out to read scripted speeches from a teleprompter before quickly scurrying back out of sight.

And a top House Democrat offered up one lousy excuse for why Kamala Harris is avoiding the press.

Vice President Kamala Harris appears to be going out of her way to avoid sitting down for an interview with the media.

Since she took over as Democrats’ Presidential nominee for President Joe Biden, Harris has held several rallies in multiple states across the country.

Harris delivers the same speech at each rally and then avoids fielding questions from reporters other than a brief back and forth before she boards Air Force Two.

On Friday, the Republican National Committee called out Kamala Harris on social media for not holding any press conferences or conducting any interviews.

“DAY 19: Kamala hasn’t done a single interview nor press conference since she forced Biden off the ticket,” RNC Research wrote on X. “Just the same recycled teleprompter speech over and over again.”

Trump’s running mate, Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH), also ripped Harris for being afraid of the press.

“President Trump is taking questions from reporters as Kamala Harris hides behind a teleprompter,” Vance wrote on X. “It’s been 18 days since she answered real questions from the media.”

The last time Harris sat down for an interview was with Newsweek on June 24.

But Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) rushed to Harris’ defense in an appearance on Bloomberg’s Balance of Power.

“Well, Congressman, it is worth pointing out that Donald Trump did take many questions from the media at Mar-a-Lago today,” co-host Kailey Leinz began. “He and JD Vance have criticized the Vice President for not doing so,” Leinz continued before asking, “When is it time for her to sit down for an interview or to hold a news conference like he did today?”

Krishnamoorthi responded by claiming that Harris was planning “a lot of news conferences in the weeks and months to come.”

He then offered up a lame excuse for why it’s been so long since she sat for an interview.

According to Krishnamoorthi, Harris is “introducing herself to the public.”

“I think, right now, as your previous guests have mentioned, I think she’s introducing herself to the public as the presidential nominee for our party,” he said.

Of course, Harris has been Vice President for the past three and a half years and needs no introduction.

“But, right now, I think what Donald Trump is really trying to do is deflect attention from her campaign, because he knows that she has the momentum and she is gaining in the polls and he doesn’t like it and so he’s trying to redirect attention away and distract from what is obviously a successful campaign by Kamala Harris,” he added.

The reality is that Kamala Harris is a nightmare when left unscripted.

She rambles incoherent word salads mixed with her annoying cackle.

Harris is avoiding the media because she can’t handle it.
