Democrats think that they’re getting their swagger back.
They’re ramping up to go on the offensive.
And a Fox & Friends star made one prediction that struck fear in the heart of Chuck Schumer.
Democrats go all in on protesting Elon Musk
Democrats and their media allies have put Tesla CEO Elon Musk in their crosshairs for his work with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Skeptics dismissed DOGE but it hit paydirt while investigating the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
USAID had become a massive slush fund that was sending money to the Taliban, funding left-wing media outlets like Politico, and giving grants for woke projects overseas like transgender comic books in South America.
President Donald Trump and Musk moved to shut down USAID and transfer control to the State Department.
Democrats held a series of protests against Musk over USAID and DOGE’s access to the payment system in the Department of Treasury.
U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) said that Democrats are pulling the “fire alarm” while other Democrat lawmakers went off the rails.
Representative LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) declared that Democrats were “at war” during a protest held outside of the Department of Treasury building.
“We will not take this s*** from Donald Trump and Elon Musk,” McIver raged. “Let us in!”
Ranting and raving about Elon Musk won’t produce any results for Democrats
Democrats have been trying to figure out their strategy to oppose the Trump administration.
They decided to go to war against Musk and his work cutting government waste with DOGE.
Fox & Friends co-host Lawrence Jones predicted that Democrats wouldn’t get any mileage out of their attacks on Musk.
He argued that the apocalyptic rhetoric including threatening war would turn off normal voters.
“Now you’ve got [Senate Minority Leader] Chuck Schumer, Maxine Waters who is ranking member on financial service, you’ve got all of your leadership out there screaming,” Jones said. “I don’t know how they recover from this. Nobody is gonna vote for crazy.”
Co-host Brian Kilmeade said that most people would like Musk’s work to cut government waste as a good thing.
“This is a gift to have a forensic accountant go in there, the most talented businessman we have adopted from South Africa, but they’re actually saying apartheid because he’s from South Africa? Are you crazy?” Kilmeade asked.
Democrats have decided that attacking Musk is an effective way to get to Trump.
But it remains to be seen if voters are upset about cutting foreign aid at USAID or government waste.
Foreign aid is the most unpopular part of the federal budget according to polling and Democrats are rushing to defend it.
Trump was elected with a broad mandate to cut waste from the bloated federal budget.
Democrats are unwilling to give an inch to any cuts to spending.
Going after Elon Musk isn’t likely to prove to be a winning fight for Democrats as they flail around looking for something that will deal a political blow to Donald Trump.
