Bruce Springsteen just charged fans $2,900 a seat to watch him trash the president.
Now one of rock's most respected conservatives has had enough.
What Journey star Jonathan Cain told him this week may be the most American thing said on a podcast all year.
Springsteen Charged Fans 2900 Dollars for the Land of Hope and Dreams Tour
Journey star Jonathan Cain, the keyboardist on hits like "Don't Stop Believin'" and a self-described diehard conservative, unloaded on Bruce Springsteen during an appearance on the Tom Barnard podcast.
"Guys like Bruce Springsteen should shut up," Cain said. "Him and – who's the other one – Robert De Niro. I mean, who cares, guys? Really? Do your art. I try to keep politics out of my music."
"Bruce, I mean, what the heck? I used to like him, and now he's just annoying," Cain said. "He's an annoying, bitter old man. I mean, stop it. You were born in the U.S.A., weren't you, dude? So act like it."
Springsteen spent 2026 turning his concert stage into a Democrat rally – and charging a fortune for the privilege.
His "Land of Hope and Dreams" tour launched in March with premium seats hitting $2,900 in Newark.
Fans who paid $7,000 for floor tickets got to hear Springsteen call Trump's administration "corrupt, incompetent, racist, reckless, and treasonous" – then spend $90 on a "No Kings" branded flag on the way out.
His own hometown paper, NJ.com, called the entire spectacle "hypocritical crap."
The outlet noted that Springsteen had built his entire identity as a "bleeding-heart populist" championing the working class – before charging those same working people a mortgage payment to sit in the cheap seats.
Kid Rock and Jonathan Cain Both Told Springsteen to Keep Politics Off the Stage
Cain isn't the first conservative in rock to call out Springsteen's lecturing.
Kid Rock went on Fox & Friends in May after Springsteen trashed Trump from a stage in Berlin – not in front of American fans, but in Europe.
Kid Rock said going overseas to trash the president was "a punk move" – and called Springsteen "just another person with TDS" – Trump Derangement Syndrome.
"Me and Kid Rock, we're probably on an island," Cain said. "There's a few of us, and I proudly stand there with my flag on that island. And if anybody's got a problem with me, America and Jesus, then bring it."
Cain's wife, Paula White-Cain, serves as a senior advisor in Trump's White House Faith Office.
"People say, 'Well, you're a Christian, and you're conservative,'" Cain said. "I don't preach it on stage. I don't spend 10 minutes talking about it."
Springsteen spent four decades doing exactly that – and charging fans more every year for the sermon.

In 2003, the Dixie Chicks were sitting atop both the country and pop charts when Natalie Maines stepped to a microphone in London and announced she was "ashamed the President of the United States is from Texas” during the build up to the Iraq war.
Radio stations pulled their music overnight, fans burned albums in the street, and the group never recovered its place in country music.
Springsteen missed that lesson – or believes rock fans will swallow the lecture that country fans wouldn't.
They won't.
The same audience that turned Springsteen into a legend – grandparents who once blasted Born in the U.S.A. on summer road trips – is now watching him call their president a traitor from a stage most of them can't afford to enter.
Fox News contributor Joe Concha pointed to what he called the "jungle land of hypocrisy" – a millionaire rock star telling working Americans they're living under tyranny while pocketing thousands per ticket.
Cain said even "Born in the U.S.A." was a kind of diss on the country that made Springsteen rich.
The Dixie Chicks lost their radio stations in 48 hours.
Springsteen is losing his fans one $7,000 floor ticket at a time.
Jonathan Cain looked at the $2,900 seats, the $90 flags, and the stages in Berlin, and told Springsteen what his own fans have been saying for months – you were born in the USA, Bruce. Start acting like it.
