Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg tried to swing the 2024 election to Democrats by waging lawfare against Donald Trump.

Bragg failed.

And now Donald Trump has one secret weapon to take down Alvin Bragg.

Department of Justice drops charges against New York City Mayor

New York City Mayor Eric Adams was a critic of Joe Biden’s open borders agenda.

Adams warned Biden that shipping 100,000 illegal aliens into New York would “destroy” the city.

Shortly thereafter, the Biden Justice Department indicted Adams on corruption charges stemming from allegations Adams’ 2021 Mayoral campaign solicited illegal campaign contributions from Turkey.

After winning the election, Trump said at a Mar-a-Lago news conference that he would consider pardoning Adams as Trump believed Adams was the victim of a politically motivated indictment, something Trump knew a thing or two about.

“He made some pretty strong statements, like ‘This is not sustainable,’” Trump told reporters. “I said, ‘You know what? He’ll be indicted soon.’ And I said it not as a prediction — a little bit light-heartedly. But I said it. I said he’s going to be indicted. And a few months later, he got indicted.”

Trump didn’t pardon Adams.

Instead, Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove instructed prosecutors in the Southern District of New York to drop the charges.

“You are directed, as authorized by the Attorney General, to dismiss the pending charges,” Bove wrote, adding that Justice Department leadership “reached this conclusion without assessing the strength of the evidence or the legal theories on which the case is based,” and “in no way calls into question the integrity and efforts” of the prosecutors who brought the case.

Bove wrote the timing of the indictment was suspicious and that battling this charges kept Adams from carrying out his duties to protect public safety.

“The pending prosecution has unduly restricted Mayor Adams’ ability to devote full attention and resources to the illegal immigration and violent crime,” Bove added.

Bill O’Reilly had this theory about why the Trump Justice Department dropped the charges against Adams.

In a criminal investigation, prosecutors give lighter sentences to the little fish to get them to flip on the real targets.

O’Reilly told NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo that he believed this strategy was in play with Adams as Adams would turn into a whistleblower to deliver the goods on Bragg and New York State Attorney General Letitia James, who tried to sue Trump into poverty by confiscating all his money in a sham civil fraud suit.

“I’m going to predict it here. He [Trump] will bring down Letitia James and Alvin Bragg because they went on a crusade to destroy him. And President Trump is not a forgiving man,” O’Reilly began.

O’Reilly made it clear this was his speculation and not reporting, but O’Reilly believed it was the only way all these pieces fit together.

“I’m not reporting it to be true, but it kind of makes sense,” O’Reilly said.
