Democrats come across as clueless fighting with Elon Musk
Democrats and their media allies have been searching for weeks for an angle of attack against President Donald Trump.
They settled on going after SpaceX CEO Elon Musk and his work with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
DOGE caused a Democrat meltdown when it uncovered a mountain of wasteful spending on foreign aid at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), which led to its being shut down.
Fox News host Sean Hannity asked White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt if she had a response to Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA) and Democrats who are raging over Musk.
Waters led a group of Democrats who tried to barge into the Department of Education building unannounced and began berating a security guard who wouldn’t let them in.
Leavitt accused Democrats of being “incredibly out of touch” with voters.
“I would love to, Sean,” Leavitt said. “Clearly, the Democrats learned nothing from their devastating defeat on November 5 because this is exactly what the American people voted for. President Trump campaigned alongside Elon Musk, and President Trump promised voters on the campaign that he was going to make our government more efficient.”
Democrats are flailing at the start of Trump’s Presidency
Democrats have argued that no one voted for Musk and that voters just wanted to see Trump bring down prices.
Leavitt reminded the audience that voters sent Trump to Washington, D.C. to disrupt the system.
“He came up with the idea of DOGE, and he told everybody in the world he would be appointing Elon Musk to cut through the waste, fraud, and abuse that has plagued our federal government for far too long and has ripped off hard-working taxpayers,” Leavitt stated.
She told Democrats that the only surprise was the scale of wasteful spending DOGE uncovered.
“I think it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anybody that that’s what Elon is doing at the direction of President Trump,” Leavitt explained. “The only surprise here is the vast amount of waste, fraud, and abuse that we have uncovered, and we are just getting started.”
Congressional Democrats have argued that any attempt to shut down USAID or government spending is illegal.
“The Democrats are so incredibly out of touch. If you look at the public polling, 56% of the public supports President Trump’s freeze on foreign aid. The most recent CBS poll shows that the vast majority of Americans support what President Trump is doing,” Leavitt stated.
Leavitt said DOGE would continue to uncover waste while Democrats meltdown.
“So while the Democrats continue to hoot and holler in the streets, acting completely deranged, President Trump and Elon Musk and our entire administration are going to continue to go line by line and treat this federal government like a business,” Leavitt added.
She dismissed the handwringing by Democrats over DOGE as fear-mongering.
“What do we actually need to spend money on to advance America’s interests?” Leavitt asked. “That is our goal here. That’s all that’s happening. Anything else is fear-mongering by the left because they don’t have a real message, and they’re deranged. There’s no other way to put it.”’
Elon Musk and DOGE are over the target based on the reaction to their work from Democrats.
