The second Trump administration’s plan for shock and awe is beyond anything anyone expected.
Even allies are stunned.
And Alina Habba burst out laughing over Jesse Watters asking her one question.
Alina Habba discusses Donald Trump’s plan for Gaza
Donald Trump set off another earthquake when during a press conference with Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump floated the idea of the United States removing all the Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, taking ownership of the land, and potentially deploying U.S. military troops to Gaza to secure it and rebuild.
President Trump – reverting to his career as a real estate developer – claimed Gaza could become the “Riviera of the Middle East” with beachfront resorts, casinos, and entertainment venues.
No one had heard anything like this before.
Even Trump’s normal allies were stunned.
Fox News host Jesse Watters asked White House Senior Counselor Alina Habba if Trump was just “spitballing” with a proposed military invasion of Gaza to turn it into a United States colony.
Habba laughed out loud at Watters’ question and replied that Trump was simply running the art of the deal.
“There is nobody better at making a deal than the man who wrote The Art of the Deal. That’s the truth, Jesse,” Habba stated.
Trump used this tactic multiple times so far two weeks into his second term.
The President of Panama caved to Trump’s demands and agreed to leave Communist China’s Belt and Road initiative after Trump threatened to take back control of the canal.
Both Canada and Mexico agreed to concessions on securing the border in the face of Trump’s threat to impose 25 percent tariffs.
Habba said Trump’s overriding goal was peace in the Middle East.
“Listen, he wants one thing, and that’s the art of peace. I think that should be his next chapter. And this is a big step towards that. There is nobody who will be better, as we’ve seen,” Habba added.
Trump delivered on that goal in his first term through the historic Abraham Accords where Israel’s Arab neighbors recognized it for the first time and Trump avoided any new wars.
Habba told Watters that Trump’s goal was working with the countries in the region to strike a deal that removed Hamas from Gaza while also bringing Israel and its neighbors into peaceful co-existence.
“We’re going to help. We’re going to have collaborative help. We’re going to do things such as tell people that we will tariff you if you’re taking advantage of America, and then we will work together because the end result and the end goal is one thing and that’s the truth Jesse,” Habba declared.
Donald Trump is an unconventional President who will adopt outside-the-box approaches to the problems America faces.
But one of them isn’t sending troops to invade and occupy Gaza, as the threat was simply a negotiating tactic.
