Elon Musk is using his private sector experience to streamline the federal government.
His plan is already paying off in spades.
And Elon Musk made one stunning discovery that was awful news for Democrats.
J.D. Vance makes a surprising prediction for DOGE’s outcome
President Donald Trump launched the most ambitious attempt to reform the federal government in a generation.
He appointed SpaceX CEO Elon Musk to lead the newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to cut waste and streamline the federal government.
Washington, D.C. insiders and the media are skeptical of Musk’s ability to make any serious changes to the bloated federal government.
Vice President J.D. Vance argued that cutting spending wasn’t the most important outcome for DOGE during an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity.
“DOGE is going to save money, it has already identified a lot of cost savings,” Vance said.
He noted that DOGE has already identified red tape in the federal government that will be an obstacle to implanting Trump’s agenda.
“The most important thing that it’s going to do, I don’t even think it’s the cost savings, it’s making the bureaucracy responsive to the elected President,” Vance stated.
Donald Trump has to battle the federal bureaucracy to implement his agenda
Trump isn’t just in a fight with Democrats and the Republican establishment to deliver on his mandate for change.
He’s also sparring with the unelected bureaucrats in the federal government who want to resist him.
“If you look at okay, the President issues an executive order saying we’re not going to give grants to organizations that do X, Y, and Z and the bureaucracy just does not respond, DOGE has identified grants that were going to be made in violation of an executive order and stop them before the money is wired,” Vance explained. “We’re talking about making the people’s government responsive to the people’s elected President.”
Vance was likely referring to a $37 million grant that would be sent to the Chinese-controlled World Health Organization (WHO).
Trump issued an executive order to withdraw the United States from the WHO on his first day in office.
The Vice President said that “crushing bureaucracy that answers to nobody sitting on top of the American people” will be eliminated by DOGE which will “unleash innovation” and “unleash economic prosperity.”
DOGE is looking at trimming as much as $500 billion annually from the bloated federal budget.
“We’re going to get it off and we’re going to actually make it responsive to our economic growth needs, to our needs to buy the right weapons for the next generation of warfare,” Vance stated. “And I think that is the most profound thing that DOGE is going to do.”
The federal government has more than three million employees across a sprawling group of agencies and departments.
Musk and the DOGE team are conducting a thorough review of federal spending to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse.
Trump championed it as a modern-day Manhattan Project when he announced it after the election.
“This will send shockwaves through the system, and anyone involved in Government waste, which is a lot of people!” Trump declared.
Elon Musk has a unique opportunity to help drain the Swamp with his work on DOGE.
