Pop star Taylor Swift has become a regular at Kansas City Chiefs games after she started dating the team’s star tight end Travis Kelce.
The camera regularly pans to the luxury box where she’s watching the game.
Women’s basketball star Caitlin Clark was seen at Arrowhead Stadium watching the Chief’s divisional round playoff win over the Houston Texans with Swift.
She became a Chiefs fan growing up in Iowa and had the chance to watch it with arguably the biggest celebrity on the planet.
Clark was personally invited by Swift to attend a game last year after the pair struck up a friendship.
She told the Swarmcast podcast that watching a Chiefs game with Swift was the thrill of a lifetime.
It was the chance for the basketball star to be normal for a day.
“Taylor is very sweet and very kind, and it’s just a good reminder that people in our position . . . we are very normal,” Clark said. “Sometimes our lives aren’t normal, but we are very normal people, and we enjoy doing fun things, too.”
Kansas City made its seventh straight AFC Championship Game with the win over the Texans.
Clark and Swift were able to be football fans like everyone at the stadium.
“Getting to share that, I was like, ‘Oh my God, I love this! She loves the Chiefs as much as me. Like, this is incredible!’” Clark said.
Kelce had a standout game for the Chiefs with seven catches for 117 yards and a touchdown.
“We had so much fun, and honestly it was the perfect game,” Clark recalled. “The Chiefs won, it was close at halftime, Travis scores a huge touchdown for the Chiefs, we ended up winning. There was nothing crazy that happened, and we felt confident as it got to the end.”
Clark attended one of Swift’s concerts in Indianapolis last November and met Kelce.
The basketball star struck up a friendship with Swift and Kelce.
Patrick Mahomes praises Caitlin Clark for attending the Chiefs game
Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes praised Clark as being the most famous athlete at the team’s playoff game during an appearance on a local Kansas City radio station.
“It’s awesome,” Mahomes said. “Watching Caitlin play at Iowa and then got to meet her, and she also works at State Farm.”
Mahomes and Clark are celebrity endorsers for State Farm Insurance.
“A tremendous athlete and a tremendous role model for my daughter to watch and show how women’s sports has really taken off, and she’s kind of been at the forefront of that as far as women’s basketball,” Mahomes added. “Glad she’s a Chiefs fan.”
Caitlin Clark has become the biggest women’s sports star in the country and her celebrity status is only growing this offseason.
