Meghan Markle is releasing a new Netflix reality show called With Love, Meghan where she showcases her cooking and gardening skills with her celebrity friends.
This is the former D-list actress’ latest attempt to leverage her celebrity status to revive her flagging career.
Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, are focused on their Royal duties while their sister-in-law chases fame.
Royal Family expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News that William and Kate are ignoring the latest career move by Meghan.
“Prince William and Catherine are known to be glad to retain a distance from Meghan Markle, thereby avoiding any potential entanglement in future controversies,” Fordwich said. “Stability and service are paramount to the couple as they anticipate their lives being dedicated to both. There isn’t anything furthering either of those values in Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s deal with Netflix.”
Meghan delayed the release of her reality show from January to March because of the Los Angeles wildfires.
That decision was seen as a slight to the British Royal Family according to the Daily Mail.
Meghan “didn’t think twice” about pushing back the debut of her reality show but she didn’t show the same courtesy when the late Prince Philip, her husband Prince Harry’s grandfather, was gravely ill.
She and Harry went forward with a tawdry interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 that rocked the family while Philip was on his deathbed.
He died a month after the interview aired.
“Their despicable timing of the Oprah interview, which caused Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip untold anguish, was totally and utterly unforgivable,” Fordwich stated.
William and Kate keep their distance from Meghan Markle
Harry and Meghan have become estranged from the Royal Family after they left the United Kingdom for southern California in 2021.
Fordwich called the Royal couple “a huge liability” for “what the monarchy stands for.”
She said that William and Kate would ignore Meghan’s Netflix show to focus on their Royal duties.
The Prince and Princess of Wales are raising their three young children and helping while King Charles III battles an undisclosed form of cancer.
“For the Royal Family, this further reinforces Prince William’s instincts to retain the distance from the couple,” Fordwich explained.
William and Harry reportedly haven’t spoken to each other in years.
To Di For Daily podcast host, Kinsey Schofield thought that delaying the release of the show could be to Meghan’s benefit.
“I would not be surprised if they used the entire month and a half . . . to make some much-needed edits to the final product,” Schofield said.
“The Royal Family recognized that Meghan wasn’t out for anyone but herself a long time ago,” Schofield explained. “They set boundaries to protect their emotional wellbeing well before Megxit. Meghan constantly prioritizes herself at their expense and the only solution is to keep her at a distance. It’s not about being cruel, it’s about recognizing that the relationship is toxic and one-sided.”
