Pete Hegseth will have his hands full when he becomes Secretary of Defense.
He’s going to have another unexpected problem on his plate.
And Pete Hegseth got one surprising warning about the military that left him on edge.
Concerns grow about the military after recent terrorist attacks
New Year’s Day saw two terrorist attacks that were committed by two men who apparently served in the U.S. military.
Islamic radical Shamsud Din Jabbar drove an electric-powered truck into a crowd on New Orleans’ Bourbon Street, killing 15 and injuring dozens.
Jabbar served in the Army for eight years during the Global War on Terrorism and deployed to Afghanistan.
He posted videos online declaring his allegiance to ISIS and said his rampage was inspired by them.
Matthew Livelsberger was a 37-year-old active duty Green Beret in the U.S. Army, who was based in Germany and rented a Tesla Cybertruck in Colorado before driving it to Las Vegas, Nevada.
Livelsberger took his own life after he set off an explosive device made out of fireworks and gasoline that blew up the Cybertruck in front of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas.
President-elect Donald Trump’s Border Czar Tom Homan warned that the Biden regime ignored terrorist threats during an appearance on Fox News’ America Reports.
“I think the incoming administration needs to look at insider threat[s],” Homan said. “Insider threat analysis has been put on the back seat by this administration.”
Trump Border Czar warns about threats from within
Homan pointed to the potential threat coming from inside the military, FBI, and businesses that oversee infrastructure as worthy of being investigated.
“We’ve got two people who served in the military that committed these terrorist acts,” Homan explained. “We need to really dig down into insider threat[s] in our military, in our federal servants, whether it’s the FBI, whether it’s other agencies, whether it’s the military.”
These potential threats inside an organization are often overlooked because it’s assumed that they can be trusted.
“Insider threat’s a big issue, especially in our industry where they have infrastructure responsibilities,” Homan stated. “We need to drill down and find out about this inspiration and what insider threat is currently in the United States government, military, and United States government service, and address those right away. We’ve got to address the insider threat. We have to. We can’t let this go on any further.”
Homan also pointed to the need to secure the border to keep unvetted, illegal aliens from entering the country.
“We’ve got a record number of known gateways,” Homan stated. “Over 2 million people entered this country. We don’t know who they are or where they came from or what their purpose was for coming to this country.”
The incoming Border Czar said that securing the border was a national security issue.
“This country is in grave danger,” Homan declared. “They’re still releasing thousands of people every week… without proper vetting.”
Donald Trump and his Secretary of Defense nominee, Pete Hegseth, will have to look at the potential for insider threats coming from the military.
The woke Biden regime could be overlooking signs of Islamic terror.
