A recently defeated Democrat put jaws on the floor when he took out his revenge on voters

Voters let their voices be heard loud and clear in November.

But not everyone is taking the results too well.

And now a recently defeated Democrat put jaws on the floor when he took out his revenge on voters.

After years of left-wing insanity, voters in Portland, Oregon came to their senses at least somewhat when they ousted woke District Attorney Mike Schmidt back in May.

They replaced him with Nathan Vasquez, a former Republican, who campaigned on a promise of cracking down on the rampant crime and drug abuse plaguing the city.

Even in Portland, there’s a limit to the woke insanity voters will tolerate

On the night of his victory, Vasquez said, “I am committed to fulfilling those campaign promises. I’m committed to ending the open-air drug use, to ending the open-air drug dealing that we have suffered from as a community. I am also committed to restoring that idea that it is OK to hold people accountable and doing it in a compassionate manner.”

The shift in political winds was a long time coming and didn’t happen until after Schmidt dialed up the woke policies to the extreme.

During the riots in the wake of the death of George Floyd, Black Lives Matter violent protesters set downtown Portland ablaze.

The rioters then threatened to murder people who dared to live near a police station.

Mayor Ted Wheeler feared for his life when he was chased from his home by a violent mob.

But even amid all this crime, 90% of those arrested who had ties to BLM and Antifa were never even charged by Schmidt.

Through his inaction, it became known that it was open season on law-abiding citizens.

Now, in what is a stubborn insistence on adhering to woke extremism even after the city’s leftist voters made their desire to go another way clear, Schmidt is doubling down on his criminal coddling.

One final flip-off to the voters who gave him a pink slip

It seems as if he is hellbent on taking revenge on the voters who sent him packing.

In the final days of his term, Schmidt is attempting to set up early releases for a slew of murderers, rapists, and thugs.

Using a law passed by the state legislature in 2021, a District Attorney and a person convicted of a crime can jointly ask a judge to reduce a prison sentence or reconsider their criminal cases.

Several violent convicted felons are hoping for a change of fortune when a Judge reexamines their sentences on Monday, Schmidt’s final day in office.

According to the New York Post, a man called Frank Swopes Jr. who was convicted of felony murder, “tied a 76-year-old woman to her bed, ‘terrorized’” and ‘touched her sexually’ after breaking into her home. The elderly victim also indicated that she believed Swopes Jr. ‘either urinated or ejaculated on her’ during the home invasion.”

Schmidt’s term in office is expiring not a moment too soon, and by all accounts, his successor promises to be far less apt to give violent offenders a free pass.

But hopefully, the events that have transpired in recent years serve as a warning to voters to think long and hard before again agreeing to hire radical woke prosecutors who won’t prosecute.
