Jussie Smollett’s hate-crime hoax made international headlines, giving him more attention and media coverage in a matter of months than he generated in his entire acting career combined.
Many thought the hoax would be the last they ever heard of the hate crime hoaxer.
Because now Jussie Smollett just proved there is indeed a two-tiered justice system – just not in the way Democrats claim.
Smollett tests if the Jussie is worth the squeeze
In early 2019, actor Jussie Smollett had a brilliant idea to boost his middling career while also smearing then-President Donald Trump and his supporters at the same time.
He made a criminal complaint that he was assaulted by two white men wearing red Make America Great Again hats in the middle of the night who were yelling racial slurs at him, poured bleach on him, and put a noose around his neck.
Making Smollett’s scriptwriting even more outlandish, he claimed it all happened while his assailants were shouting that the Democrat-controlled city of Chicago was “MAGA Country.”
The incident coincidentally happened right in front of security cameras.
However, it all turned out to be Smollett’s worst acting performance yet.
It didn’t take long before it was revealed that Smollett hired two Nigerian brothers to portray “racist” Trump supporters and staged the entire ordeal.
The struggling thespian lied to cops, obstructed justice, and wasted millions of taxpayer dollars in an attempt to revive his career and make Trump supporters look bad at the same time.
And he was convicted for it and faced five-years behind bars.
However, Democrats weren’t going to allow a left-wing, anti-Trump, elitist, Hollywood race hustler to spend 144 days paying for the hoax he committed.
Smollett’s case was appealed to the Illinois Supreme Court.
The court consists of six Democrats from the Chicago-land area and the Windy City’s outer-burbs and two Republicans from the rest of the large state.
And now, the Democrat-controlled court’s ruling is in.
Jussie gets off scot-free
Breitbart News is reporting that the Illinois Supreme Court has ruled in favor of Smollett and overturned his conviction.
The court’s decision to overturn was based on a bogus reading of the situation.
The judges ruled that Smollett was prosecuted twice for the same crime.
This is because Democrat State’s Attorney for Cook County Kim Fox initially struck a plea deal with the actor for a guilty plea in return for a forfeiture of his $10,000 bond and a sentence of 15 hours of volunteer community service.
Fox backed out of the deal following massive public backlash for the kid gloves treatment she attempted to give a fellow Democrat who was guilty of a despicable crime.
The deal was pulled and Smollett was eventually sentenced to five months in prison.
And the Illinois Supreme Court decided that was somehow tantamount to double jeopardy.
“We are aware that this case has generated significant public interest and that many people were dissatisfied with the resolution of the original case and believed it to be unjust,” Justice Elizabeth Rochford wrote. “Nevertheless, what would be more unjust than the resolution of any one criminal case would be a holding from this court that the State was not bound to honor agreements upon which people have detrimentally relied.”
But the court didn’t even go back to the original plea deal.
Instead, the judges ruled that Smollett is now completely off the hook as all charges against him have officially been dropped.
Beyond that, they’ve ruled Smollett cannot be tried again in the future.
To recap, Jussie made up a hate crime hoax, was caught red-handed, was convicted, his conviction was overturned on a technicality that didn’t refute his guilt, and now, he’s getting away without any consequences.
