The ruling class elites have spent decades making working-class Americans’ lives worse while living high on the hog.
Yet they never face accountability for their actions.
But this top Democrat could finally face charges for this major coverup.
Cuomo Charged with Lying to Congress
Democrats’ media allies love to make heroes out of anyone who isn’t former President Donald Trump.
During COVID, they made a hero out of then Gov. Andrew Cuomo because he was in the biggest panic mode and locked down his state harder than anywhere else, and he was saying that Trump didn’t go far enough.
The media fawned over his “leadership” during the crisis, even though he was demonstrably wrong at every step of the process. He waited too long to start taking action, demanding everyone send his state ventilators and closed schools and restaurants.
But the worst thing he did was take bribes from nursing homes to get COVID infected patients to nursing homes so they could rake in federal money.
He even had a ghost writer produce a book for him and won an Emmy Award for his press briefings. But that was all a lie, and he was eventually stripped of his Emmy.
But to make everything worse, Congress is recommending to the DOJ that criminal charges be filed against him.
Sending the COVID Positive to Nursing Homes
According to the Washington Examiner, “House Republicans are recommending criminal charges against former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo for intentionally lying to Congress during the Oversight Committee’s investigation into the excessive number of nursing home fatalities during the first few months of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
The charges stem from alleged false statements being sent to Congress designed to mitigate his role in over 15,000 deaths of seniors in nursing homes.
His directives allowed COVID positive patients to be admitted to nursing homes, allowing the facility to rake in federal cash but putting all the other residents at extreme risk. The hardest hit group and biggest risk factor was age, and this was known during the Cuomo regime.
The allegation is that he lied to the committee when he testified in July that he had nothing to do with the directive. He also said that “he didn’t recall” many times during his testimony.
But as the Washington Examiner reported, “testimony from New York Executive Chamber staff, including senior adviser Jim Malatras and executive assistant Farrah Kennedy, indicate that Cuomo was intimately involved in drafting the July 6 report, revising significant sections of the report to downplay the severity of the death toll caused by the nursing home policy.”
The most damning was this section from the Examiner story: “The email said that the mandatory admittance policy was “going to be a great debacle in the history books” and asked, “Don’t u see how bad this is? Or do we admit error and give up?”
Cuomo knew just how bad it was and is looking to restart his political career by running for Mayor of New York City. But before people make that happen, there should be a full account of how he handled one of the biggest crises to ever face his state.
