Kamala Harris is learning that her big mouth is a liability as a Presidential candidate.

She was forced to face one moment from her past that she didn’t want to relive.

And Kamala Harris issued one scary threat that backfired on her in the worst way.

Kamala threatened lawfare against the oil and gas industry

Vice President Kamala Harris received a dramatic political makeover when she started running for President in July.

She spent her decades-long political career as a warrior against fossil fuels, but that all changed when she needed votes in swing states.

Kamala backed off of a ban on fracking because Pennsylvania – a virtual must-win state for her – is in the middle of an energy boom solely because of fracking.

Now, she avoids talking about climate change on the campaign trail, but another position from her past resurfaced that gave Democrats heartburn.

One of the tactics that climate change activists want to use is the legal system against oil and gas companies because their extremist agenda has stalled out in legislatures.

Kamala said she was ready to use the Justice Department to file criminal cases against oil and gas companies at a 2019 town hall during her ill-fated first Presidential campaign.

An attendee asked her if major oil companies, like Chevron and Shell, should be investigated for contributing to climate change.

“You should be really prepared to look at a serious fine or be charged with a crime,” Kamala said.

The Biden-Harris regime has taken Democrats’ weaponization of the Justice Department to unprecedented levels.

Kamala was willing to use it to bankrupt and destroy an entire sector of the economy.

She went on to compare the harm that oil and gas companies are doing to the tobacco industry.

“And, not unlike the tobacco companies, after years — ’cause they’d done the research — they knew the harm that their product was causing. They were making so much money that they kept that secret — same thing with these big oil companies. And they need to pay the price,” Kamala stated. “So yes is the answer.”

Kamala told woke extremist outlet Mother Jones that she was ready for criminal prosecutions during her 2020 Presidential campaign.

“Let’s get them not only in the pocketbook, but let’s make sure there are severe and serious penalties for their behaviors,” Kamala warned.

CNN highlights Kamala flipping on the oil and gas industry

Kamala is singing a different tune about oil and gas now that needs votes in Pennsylvania.

She told a local Pittsburgh TV station that it wasn’t true she wanted to ban fracking.

“So let me start by saying that that ad as you described it is absolutely a mischaracterization, which I think is intended to make people afraid,” Kamala claimed. “I will not ban fracking. I did not as Vice President.”

CNN reporter Andrew Kaczynski noted that Kamala was on the far-left edge of the Democrat Party when she ran for President during a panel on CNN’s Erin Burnett OutFront.

“She’s flip-flopped on a lot of issues related to energy,” Kaczynski explained. “Take a look at just a few of them. She said she was going to ban plastic straws; she said she was going to ban fracking, we have heard a lot about that; and she said she would eliminate the filibuster to pass the Green New Deal. Now, she also ran Facebook ads during that campaign which were touting her support for the Green New Deal, which were saying that she was going to take on Big Oil for their role in contributing to climate change.”

He noted that climate change ranked as the second least important issue to voters in a Gallup survey.

Kamala Harris will be haunted by her extremism on climate change.
