Bill Clinton is one of the elder statesmen of the Democrat Party.
He’s getting off the sidelines and into the fight for the 2024 Election.
And Bill Clinton made one surprising move that confirmed that Kamala Harris is desperate.
Kamala Harris’ campaign starts to empty the playbook
The Presidential race hasn’t turned out like anyone in the Democrat Party expected.
Vice President Kamala Harris was supposed to be able to ride the media-manufactured hype and momentum she had in August all the way to the White House.
The Democrat National Convention and the September 10 Presidential debate were supposed to catapult her into an insurmountable lead.
But the momentum has started to shift against her in the race.
Former President Donald Trump has a narrow lead against Kamala in the battleground states of Georgia and North Carolina.
Both of the states are starting to trend toward Trump in polling.
Kamala turned to former President Bill Clinton to help blunt Trump’s momentum in those states.
Clinton is the last Democrat to have any kind of appeal to voters in the South.
He’s going to be hitting the campaign trail in Georgia and going on a bus tour of North Carolina if the recovery from Hurricane Helene allows it.
Clinton is skipping the big campaign rallies to do smaller events like fairs that only have a few hundred people.
CNN reported that he’s going to emphasize the economy in his message to voters.
Clinton’s 1992 campaign strategist James Carville famously said, “It’s the economy, stupid.”
He’s expected to ham it up with voters doing the type of retail politics that he hasn’t done since the 1992 Democrat Presidential Primary.
Kamala is worried about the rural and the male vote
“He’s the perfect messenger to make the case that Kamala Harris would fix inflation and finish getting the economy back on track,” a source close to Clinton told CNN. “So he’s saddling up, returning to his roots and meeting people where they are to ask for their help electing her.”
Former Georgia State Representative Calvin Smyre told CNN that Clinton has a message he can sell to voters.
“He’s an authority on economics and bread and butter issues and the longest peacetime economic expansion in American history,” Smyre stated. “He has a knack of reaching people.”
Clinton is prepared for people to bring up his scandal-ridden past and his wife Hillary Clinton while campaigning.
He’s reportedly ready to handle whatever comes his way and argue the focus needs to be on the future.
Democrats have collapsed in rural areas since Clinton’s Presidency.
Kamala is hoping that he can find his old spark to help in the crucial Sun Belt swing states.
She’s also dealing with a serious problem with male voters after the Democrat Party became hostile to them.
Bill Clinton hasn’t been relevant to voters in years.
Whatever connection he might have had with voters in the South and rural areas is long gone.
This is a desperation move by Kamala’s campaign as they start to empty the playbook in the final weeks of the election.
