Kamala Harris has avoided talking about her record during this campaign.
There’s a very good reason for that.
And Kamala Harris threw a fit after this awful scheme backfired in the worst way.
Green energy is going to create more pollution
Vice President Kamala Harris was one of the first supporters of Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) Green New Deal in the Senate.
The bill would ban the use of fossil fuels and replace them with green energy.
Supporting green energy has become an article of faith in the Democrat Party.
The Biden-Harris regime has set the unattainable goal of having 10 million homes powered by massive offshore wind farms by 2030.
America’s oceans will be lined with giant wind turbines if Kamala gets her way.
Increasing the use of wind energy is going to create an environmental disaster for the ocean.
Trade publications Wind Power Engineering & Development estimated that about 1.5% of wind turbine blades fail every year.
“At that rate, over 30 300-foot turbine blades could break off and fall into the ocean every year, if the Biden-Harris administration’s offshore wind targets are reached,” Just the News reported.
The fiberglass, plastic, toxic polyvinyl chloride (PVC) foam, and other materials in the blades would get into the oceans and eventually wash up on beaches.
More than 6,000 wind turbine blades would be needed to achieve the Biden-Harris regime’s goal of powering 10 million homes.
New England beaches polluted by wind turbine blades
The Democrat-controlled states of New England – outside of GOP-controlled New Hampshire – are ready to move full steam ahead with developing offshore wind farms.
Vineyard Wind near the upscale, left-wing elitist, resort islands of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket, Massachusetts, was supposed to be the model for offshore wind farms.
Nantucket has to close its beaches to clean the potentially hazardous debris from the turbine’s blades during the island’s tourist season.
One of the giant wind turbine blades broke off and fell into the Atlantic Ocean.
The debris that broke down into smaller shards ended up on the beaches of Rhode Island.
Nantucket fisherman Bob DeCosta slammed the Vineyard Wind project.
I’ve been on the water for 56 years,” DeCosta said. “I don’t have a Ph.D. But like the other fishermen here, I know the tides, and the waters better than anybody. They never talked to us. These wind turbines are getting steamrolled over us. Big Wind is not green. The only thing green about it is the money going to the offshore wind companies.”
The wind turbines could be less reliable than their supporters claim, leading to the possibility that blades are even more likely to end up in the ocean.
American Electric Power filed a lawsuit against wind turbine maker GE Vernova over the problems it had with its turbines.
“Within only two to three years of commercial operation, the GE wind turbine generators have exhibited numerous material defects on major components and experienced several complete failures, at least one turbine blade liberation event, and other deficiencies,” the lawsuit stated. “[A]significant portion of the wind turbine generators have completely failed or have otherwise been rendered inoperable, requiring immediate repair.”
Kamala’s wind energy dreams could end up ruining the country’s oceans.
