The one thing every authoritarian regime is terrified of is losing control of information and the narrative.
Communists always seize control of radio and TV stations when they take over.
And now Hillary Clinton just said the quiet part out loud with this attack on Americans free speech.
The Ruling Class Craves Control Over Information
It isn’t all that often when a Democrat says the quiet part out loud.
Democrats want to talk about “a woman’s right to choose” and never mention the baby that’s being killed in the process.
But every now and then, someone speaks the truth, and the internet is jumping on it.
Former First Lady Hillary Clinton was pitching her sixth memoir on CNN, and the topic of social media and its effects on kids came up.
That is when Clinton went off on how much information contradicting the ruling class’ preferred narrative came out.
She called for the repeal of Section 230 of the Communications Act, which protects platforms from liability for content they don’t create.
What this would effectively mean is if some sicko published child pornography on Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg would be arrested for the crime.
“If the platforms, whether it’s Facebook or Twitter/X or Instagram or TikTok, whatever they are, if they don’t moderate and monitor the content, we lose total control,” Clinton said.
This left many wondering who “we” is? The Deep State? Democrats? The ruling class in general?
Some commentators were quick to point out how Democrats see social media as their personal propaganda tool.
Some of the comments shown on the Daily Mail include:
“Who is “we”?’ one pro-Trump account wrote on X, inquiring who exactly Clinton wanted to have control.
‘They’re all telling us what their goal is,’ Keith Outen wrote on X. ‘Only totalitarian governments use the phrase we must ban free speech, or we lose control.”
This point was made clear when they cried and whined when Elon Musk bought Twitter and made it into X for the sole purpose of protecting freedom of speech.
They claimed it would mean the “end of democracy” because Democrats couldn’t suspend people’s accounts at will.
Of course, Clinton said that this control needed to be done to “protect the children,” which is always the excuse Democrats give.
Clinton claims that if Section 230 was eliminated, social media platforms would devote more resources to policing content.
But what would really happen is that social media platforms would take down whatever information the ruling class tells them to out of fear of prosecution at any time.

Pavel Durov was arrested in France on accusations that he allowed his platform to be used for all sorts of heinous crimes.
The same charges could be made of any communications company, but Telegram refused to censor people and groups the ruling class demanded be shut down, so they are going after him.
What Durov’s real offense was that he was protecting the privacy of his users by not turning over encryption keys to the French government.
And this is how the ruling class exerts its control over social media. When it can’t get Big Tech to do what it wants, it will go after them using any means necessary.
That is what Clinton really means when she says, “We need to have guardrails, we need regulation.”
