And he just signed one bill that left Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez boiling with rage.

But Ron DeSantis hasn’t been afraid to stand up to Marxist indoctrination in Florida schools.
In most schools across the country, the horrors of communism are whitewashed to protect the Left.
Now, DeSantis signed a bill to change the curriculum of Florida schools to teach about the horrors of this dangerous left-wing ideology.
DeSantis signed House Bill 395 into law, which recognizes November 7th as the “Victims of Communism Day.”
The bill also requires that students learn about the evils caused by it.
“Today, I established November 7th as Victims of Communism Day to honor those who have suffered under communism and remind people of the destruction communism has caused worldwide, including a death toll exceeding 100 million,” DeSantis said in a social media post.
“In Florida, we will tell the truth about communism,” he remarked.
The signing ceremony for the bill took place at the Freedom Tower in Miami.
The Freedom Tour served as “Ellis Island of the South” as it processed Cuban refugees who fled Fidel Castro’s brutal communist dictatorship for the freedom of America.
“From 1959 to 1974, more than 650,000 Cubans came to the United States to have to flee the oppressive communist regime of Fidel Castro,” DeSantis said.
“Many of them came to South Florida either by plane or by boat, and once they landed, they would be taken right here to the Freedom Tower where they received assistance and began their new life in the United States,” he continued.
The bill also provided $25 million to assist with the restoration of the historic Freedom Tour.
DeSantis commented on the importance of the bill.
“Honoring the people that have fallen victim to communist regimes and teaching our students about those atrocities is the best way to ensure that history does not repeat itself,” he stated.
“Through HB 395 and the funding announced today, we are guaranteeing that the history of those who fled communist regimes and their experiences are preserved and not forgotten by our students,” he explained.
“While it’s fashionable in some circles to whitewash the history of communism, Florida will stand for truth and remain as a beachhead for freedom,” he concluded.
DeSantis’ bill could serve as a model for other conservative states across the country.
This is another major victory for conservatives in education to prevent left-wing administrators from whitewashing communist history won by DeSantis.
