Ron DeSantis just made one prediction that left Democrats panicking

Ron DeSantis has become the most successful conservative Governor in the country.

He’s on the verge of his biggest victory yet.

And he just made one prediction that left Democrats panicking.

Florida has been one of the most important battleground states in the country this century.

As the third largest state, its crucial electoral votes can determine which party captures the Oval Office.

Donald Trump carried the state twice and increased his margin of victory in 2020.

Ron DeSantis won a razor-thin election in 2018 during the so-called blue wave to become Governor.

That year, Florida defied that national trend after DeSantis’ victory and Rick Scott defeated incumbent Democrat Senator Bill Nelson.

With President Trump’s 2020 victory coming with a bigger than expected margin, Florida appears to be trending Republican.

In an appearance on The Truth with Lisa Boothe podcast, DeSantis made a bold prediction about Florida’s political future.

“I think that after the election, my goal would be, if we win the election really big, people like you who analyze these things are gonna say, ‘The days of Florida being a swing state are over,’” DeSantis explained.

“Florida is a red state, and I think that’s because of a lot of what we’ve done,” he added.

After Republicans’ success in 2018 and 2020, Democrats are terrified of Florida becoming a solidly Republican state.

But the numbers back up DeSantis’ prediction.

Under him, for the first time in the state’s history, the number of registered Republicans overtook registered Democrats.

When DeSantis was first elected, there were 280,000 more registered Democrats than Republicans in the state.

Now, registered Republicans outnumber Democrats by over 100,000 and the number continues to grow.

DeSantis’ wildly successful run as Governor has seen historic growth of the Republican Party in the state.

Voters are flocking to the party after the incredible successes the state has had under his conservative leadership.

The state has been ground zero for the GOP’s gains with Hispanic voters particularly in south Florida.

President Trump made significant improvements in Hispanic areas during his 2020 victory.

DeSantis is hoping to build upon those gains during his reelection bid this fall.

A big victory in the fall for DeSantis could deliver on his promise of turning Florida from a swing state into a red one.

And it appears he’s on track to deliver on that big win.

He’s had a consistent double-digit lead in the polls against all of his potential Democrat challengers.

DeSantis’ record-setting fundraising for his reelection topped $100 million while his closet Democrat opponent only raised $7.1 million.

National Democrats have already written off the race with the largest PAC dedicated to electing Democrat Governors not expected to make a major investment in Florida this year.

Democrats see the writing on the wall that DeSantis is poised for a historic victory in the fall.

In doing so, DeSantis will have a chance to upend politics by cementing Florida’s status as a red state.
