Ron DeSantis issued one ultimatum about this bone-chilling Chinese scheme

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis isn’t afraid to take on the tough fights.

He set his sights on one huge problem.

And Ron DeSantis issued one ultimatum about this bone-chilling Chinese scheme.

Communist China is using its financial muscle to spread its influence and power around the globe.

In the U.S., companies connected to Communist China have quietly been buying up billions of dollars’ worth of farmland and other properties across the country.

The Communist Chinese corporations have purchased land near an Air Force base in North Dakota that houses sensitive drone technology, and near several military bases in Texas, raising concerns over potential espionage operations.

President Joe Biden is asleep at the wheel as a hostile foreign country is gaining a foothold in the country.

As he starts his second term, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is looking to shut down any attempt by Communist China to buy property in the Sunshine State.

During a press conference, Governor DeSantis said that China is a “hostile nation,” and that the state’s legislature “has an appetite” to curb Chinese influence in the state.

“We don’t want to have holdings by hostile nations,” DeSantis said. “And so if you look at the Chinese Communist Party, they’ve been very active throughout the Western Hemisphere in gobbling up land and investing in different things.”

A report from the National Association of Realtors found that Chinese investors bought $6.1 billion worth of American real estate from March 2021 to March 2022, up 30% from the previous period.

“When [the CCP has] interests that are opposed to ours and you see how they’ve wielded their authority, that is not in the best interest of Florida to have the Chinese Communist Party owning farmland, owning land close to military bases,” DeSantis continued, “Why would you want them buying residential developments or things like that? I don’t want them owning subdivisions.”

A Chinese biotechnology company with ties to the country’s military purchased 1,400 acres of farmland they claim will be the site of a primate research facility in Florida.

“The Legislature only went so far a couple years ago,” DeSantis explained. “I think they’re going to have an appetite to do more because [China’s] influence on our society has been very insidious.”

Soft power or the use of indirect, non-military influence is letting Communist China make major inroads in countries beneath the radar.

Under Governor DeSantis’s leadership, Florida has worked to curb the influence of the CCP at universities in the state, and barred state agencies from using technology services linked to the Communist country.

The Florida Governor and legislature could take more bold action to stop Communist China from gaining access to the residential property market.

Ron DeSantis is leading the way by providing a blueprint about how to push back against China’s growing influence.
