Big Food companies have been feeding Americans toxic chemicals for decades.

Now HHS Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr. is putting a stop to it.

And Robert Kennedy Jr. sent shockwaves through Big Food with this bold move against toxic ingredients.

Kennedy’s war on toxic food dyes takes a major step forward

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. promised to Make America Healthy Again when he took office.

He’s wasting no time carrying out that promise.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) just approved three new color additives from natural sources that will expand the options for food manufacturers to use safer ingredients in the American food supply.

This move is a direct shot at the food industry’s longstanding reliance on petroleum-based dyes that have been linked to serious health issues, especially in children.

“Today we take a major step to Make America Healthy Again,” Kennedy declared. “For too long, our food system has relied on synthetic, petroleum-based dyes that offer no nutritional value and pose unnecessary health risks. We’re removing these dyes and approving safe, natural alternatives – to protect families and support healthier choices.”

The decision comes just weeks after Kennedy’s bombshell announcement that the FDA would be phasing out petroleum-based food dyes by the end of next year. That announcement alone sent food industry executives scrambling, with many companies already committing to remove these harmful ingredients from their products.

FDA Commissioner confirms the administration means business

FDA Commissioner Martin A. Makary, M.D., made it clear the Biden-era foot-dragging at the agency is over.

“On April 22, I said the FDA would soon approve several new color additives and would accelerate our review of others. I’m pleased to report that promises made, have been promises kept,” Makary stated. “FDA staff have been moving quickly to expedite the publication of these decisions, underscoring our serious intent to transition away from petroleum-based dyes in the food supply and provide new colors from natural sources.”

The newly approved natural color additives include:

  • Galdieria extract blue: A blue color derived from red algae for use in beverages, cereals, candies, and dairy products
  • Butterfly pea flower extract: A blue extract that can create a range of colors from bright blues to intense purples for cereals, snacks, and chips
  • Calcium phosphate: A white color for chicken products, candy melts, and sugar coatings

All three additives have undergone rigorous safety evaluations, unlike the rushed approvals of many synthetic dyes decades ago that have led to widespread health concerns.

Kennedy’s health revolution is just getting started

Kennedy’s crusade against toxic food additives is part of his broader Make America Healthy Again initiative – a direct challenge to the food industry giants who’ve profited from cheap, harmful ingredients.

The Secretary has been a fierce critic of the food industry’s practices for decades. During his confirmation hearings, he revealed a shocking statistic about America’s health crisis.

“We had a higher death count than any country in the world,” Kennedy told the Senate Finance Committee. “And when CDC was asked why, they said it’s because Americans are the sickest people on Earth. The average person who died from COVID, an American, had 3.8 chronic diseases.”

This crisis of chronic disease is exactly what Kennedy is targeting with his FDA reforms. The Trump administration understands that real healthcare reform must start with the food Americans eat every day.

Despite Kennedy being labeled “controversial” by the mainstream media and pharmaceutical industry, his focus on improving the American food supply is gaining widespread support. Even food manufacturers are falling in line, recognizing the shifting tide of public opinion against artificial ingredients.

With these approvals, Kennedy has put the entire food industry on notice: the days of poisoning Americans with toxic chemicals are coming to an end.

Kennedy has made it clear that this is just the beginning of a major overhaul of the American food system. His critics in Big Food and Big Pharma are finally starting to realize he means business.
