Democrats are making a play to seize more power.
And they’re being aided by a rogue’s gallery of Never-Trumpers.
Now one neocon warmonger is upset over something that will leave you completely speechless.
The Democrats are making a concerted effort to turn January 6 into an event equivalent to Pearl Harbor or 9/11.
Vice President Kamala Harris said as much during an unbearable speech, and some talking heads in the corporate-controlled press argued that the Capitol Hill riot was actually worse than the September 11 attacks.
Now former Vice President Dick Cheney, the architect of the disastrous Iraq War, is dogpiling on the Republican Party in an attempt to bolster the Democrats’ narrative that January 6 was an “armed insurrection.”
Cheney said, “It’s an important historical event . . . You can’t overestimate how important it is . . . I’m deeply disappointed we don’t have better leadership in the Republican Party to restore the Constitution. It’s not a leadership that resembles any of the folks I knew when I was here for ten years.”
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Cheney would help the Democrats.
Neoconservatism and the entire nation-building project have largely been repudiated by Donald Trump and his supporters.
Republicans were sold a bill of goods by Cheney and the other Iraq War cheerleaders, and all they got in return were dead Americans, skyrocketing national debt, the hollowing out of middle America, an opioid crisis, and the War on Terror turned inward against them.
It’s no accident that several prominent neocons have either officially switched their party affiliation to Democrat, or are openly masquerading as RINOs.
For example, Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin has objectively become the biggest Biden fangirl in the corporate-controlled press.
Bill Kristol and Steve Schmidt registered as Republicans, and Jonah Goldberg and Stephen Hayes quit Fox News in protest of Tucker Carlson, who happens to be the biggest antiwar voice in cable news.
Perhaps the greatest irony of Cheney and his daughter Liz siding with the Democrats is that they are despised by people on the Left.
Avowed socialist director Adam McKay eviscerated Cheney and the Republicans of the George W. Bush administration in the film Vice.
Bush and Cheney were routinely compared to Hitler and Goebbels by the Left, but now the Democrats have a strange new respect for the warmongers they skewered for so long.
The Left must always have a bogeyman, and they’ll use old bogeymen to sell the idea that the new bogeyman is even worse.
