One letter just threw CNN into chaos and you’ll never guess who got fired

CNN is undergoing a massive shakeup.

The cost-cutting is inflicting pain on the network.

And one letter just threw CNN into chaos and you’ll never guess who got fired.

New CNN CEO Chris Licht informed staff that layoffs were coming as the network’s operating expenses have reached $882 million dollars annually, and profits have dipped to their lowest level since former President Donald Trump took office.

In a follow up all staff email, Licht revealed that the first casualties of the budget cutting would be on-air contributors, and then other staff members.

“Our people are the heart and soul of this organization,” Licht wrote via email. “It is incredibly hard to say goodbye to any one member of the CNN team, much less many. I recently described this process as a gut punch, because I know that is how it feels for all of us.”

“Today we will notify a limited number of individuals, largely some of our paid contributors, as part of a recalibrated reporting strategy,” he continued. “Tomorrow, we will notify impacted employees, and tomorrow afternoon I will follow up with more details on these changes.

“It will be a difficult time for everyone,” the CEO added. “If your job has been impacted, you will learn more through an in-person meeting or via Zoom, depending on your location. In those meetings, you will receive information specific to you about notice period or any severance that would apply, and your anticipated last day.”

“I want to be clear that everyone who is bonus eligible will still receive their 2022 bonuses, which are determined by company performance,” Licht assured CNN staff. “I know these changes affect both our departing colleagues and those who remain, and we have resources designed to support you. I will include a link to those resources in my follow-up email tomorrow.”

When Licht took over the shuttered CNN+ – the streaming service Licht’s predecessor, disgraced former network president Jeff Zucker, poured $300 million into only to see the platform attract a mere 10,000 subscribers, at best.

Whether their talking heads like it or not, CNN is a network in transition – and one struggling to survive.

After Trump’s 2016 victory, CNN turned became a 24 hours per day, seven days per week, 365 days per year anti-Trump propaganda operation that bared to semblance to an actual “news network,” and saw their ratings boom.

But after the former President left office, CNN’s obsession with Trump and other left-wing propaganda cratered the network, as no CNN programming was able to attract more than one million viewers in primetime for months, a feat almost unheard of amongst major networks.

The simple fact of the matter was that Donald Trump was CNN’s meal ticket for a long time.

But now, the gravy train has run out, and many of CNN’s self-proclaimed “journalists” are finally getting the major reality check they’ve desperately needed.
